Shoe Problems

I just bought the Adidas Tour 360 shoes, and at first they felt fine, but now I have a severe ache in my left foot. I feel the insole is really not working and every time I walk it feels like the back of my foot is slipping out of the shoe. When I tie them tighter something kind of digs into my heel. The shoes are only a 10 and they are not too big, when I stick 2 fingers behind my foot There is barely room.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

Hey Dent, I think we discussed this in the PMS last week. I thought I had told you about the problems I was having with mine. I might not have. Either way, if I were you, I would return them. I think you told me you were a size 10. I will be at Golflocker.com tomorrow, and I will see what they have in the MYJoy Blems and report back to you. Whatever you decide to do, make sure that the shoes are for comfort. I like the way they look, but foot pain is not worth it. Hope it works out my friend. PM me if you need anything.

Thanks Josh, will PM you shortly, Ya I was at the range for a couple hours and they felt amazing. I tightened them to like a perfect tightness and they felt amazing. Now walking 18 I couldn't tighten them to my liking and I just have a pain in my left foot, I'm mostly worried about the foot kinda slipping out the shoe though.

To add to what Josh said, shoes should fit, not just look good. Smaller is generally better - I can't fit any fingers behind my foot with my shoes on.

Sizes may not always be the same, even within the same line. I wear size 12 sneakers (New Balance), and I wear a size 10. in FootJoy GF-II. Yet my first pair of Reelfits (size 10.5) gave me blisters. Turns out I had to go with 10s, and they fit beautifully.

In hockey, I wear a size 9 skate in some brands, and a size 8 in others.

Ignore the sizes. Put the shoes on, test for fit, walk around, and buy whatever size works best. Shoes come in varying widths, and that'll affect the sizing, too.

I just got new shoes two days ago. I never get expensive shoes just incase something goes wrong, such as this. I got a size 10 as well. I got the Adidas Beacon and really love them, only 55 dollars, much better than the stupid Callaway's I had before. I've worn them for just one round (walking) and they didn't hurt my feet one bit. Try thinner/thicker socks? sometimes that helps.

Thicker socks wont fit, wearing thin ankle socks right now.

Get yourself a pair of Ecco's. I have 2 pair. They are by far the best golf shoes you can buy IMO.

I could not wear the Tour 360 shoes as they were much too narrow and were quite painful to wear. However, the Tour 360II is a much different story as Adidas made them wider and much more enjoyable to wear (at least for me). If your intent is to stay with Adidas then I would try that route. If not, try out every shoe in the store wearing the same style sock you would be golfing in to find something this is going to be comfortable for you.

oops! Forgot to add in my First post that these are the Adidas Tour 360 II's. I find them very roomy, the only problem it is giving me is the back of the shoe, seems to not hold onto my heel.

That sounds to me, like they are too big. But that would most likely cause rubbing which in turn would cause a blister. You cant "make a shoe fit". As you said, when you wore them first, they fit, and now they dont. you wore them on the range and that has a lot less movement than walking a course. I think you should try and return these, as they are only a couple of days old. That way you could find something that is a little more comfortable and better fitting.

A few months ago my partner was buying some gel inserts for her work shoes and I was stuck there with her for ages while she was looking at them all on the shelves and I noticed the "heel gripper" things and your post reminded me of them. Up until a few months ago I didn't know they even existed!

he could barley walk with them lol, he took off his shoe at the 14th tee box

I'm going to go take a look at them right now, put a new insole in, and walk around the house for a bit.. Then I'll see what happens, If I play again with them and they still hurt, I'll sell them on here if anyone wants them.

EDIT: Just put some new insoles in them, They feel amazing already, Feel like my old shoes and there is no slipping on my heel at all, I'll play a round still, and then if they hurt This forum gets first dibs if anyone is interested.

I think the problem was that the stock insoles almost form a bowl on the heel and the sides are like walls. That pushes my foot up and out of the shoes. I think my foot is meant for a more flat insole.

sounds to me like you need some 9.5's. if your foot slides forward in the shoe too much to where you can fit a finger in there, then the heel cage can't hold your foot in. if it holds your foot in properly, it will feel better because movement within the shoe causes those stupid blisters in the back of your heel.
that's probably common sense though. all that is my 6 years in the shoe industry talking.

having said all that, next time i would look into tiger's shoe. i know they're expensive, but the 360II's aren't cheap either. i bought a pair of tw's for $99 online. nike has done a great job making the shoe perform and comfortable. of course, i've always been a nike fan.

the cage on the tw's hold my foot very well.

if there is a way, i would at least change sizes. maybe you could go to your local store and try on a smaller size to see if that is indeed the problem. at least you would know!

I was going to say, I have these same shoes, and mine are amazingly comfortable. Glad the insoles helped!

What part of your foot was the ache occuring in? That can mean a lot as to whether it's the shoe or simply finding the correct insole/support.

As someone who is on my feet all day on a concrete floor I've come to know that the most comfortable shoe you can buy is absolutely useless, and can become quite painfull unless you find an insole or orthodic that confoms to the shape and movement of your foot.
