I don't know the official name of it. Long story short, I was playing at Bali Hai last week. I was going into the 6th at 3 under & having an amazing round (I blew it and shot and 84) but during our 20 minute wait, the Japanese couple that I was playing with that was as you can tell...straight from Japan (extremely courteous people, bowing when we met, etc) were looking at my clubs. The guy was like how do you like the clubs (took me a while to decipher), and I was like they're AMAZING. He went to his bag & pulled out a sleeve of balls and said I work for Mizuno. You try..you try.
I used 1 ball for the rest of the round & DAMN, it's actually a pretty good ball. it plays like a cross b/t a NXT Tour and ProV. It's not as soft, but it has a great ball flight that fights the wind and was pretty easy to compress. My shots were about 5 yards longer on avg with each club b/c I ended up going driver, hybrid to get on a par 5 in 2 (still 3 putted for par...terrible), but if anyone knows where to get more of these suckers, I'd definitely play this ball again.

They carry various Mizuno balls. Be warned. They are not cheap. Some are/were as much as $88 a dozen.

Yep. That's where I'm at right now. I'm guessing it's one of the Cross Eight Tour balls? DJYoshi, if you find it there, please notify what ball model it is

, thanks...

too much bread for balls... those prices are almost unbearable

quite frankly, the only thing I could afford on that site is a headcover

Thats a cool story. I never knew that Mizuno made their own balls. Kinda pricey though. I cringe enough at paying $45 a dozen for Nike One Platinums or Titleist ProV1s.

it wasn't even any of the ones on the site. The lettering on the balls were gold with the mizuno mark being blue. I had no idea they were that expensive.
They felt GREAT. I should've asked the guy for a business card! This guy kept on loosing balls...he'd calmly go in his bag, and drop another. maybe they were a proto and he had his hands on them..but he dropped at least 10 balls that day...maybe even more... his wife was playinig mizuno balls too.... it makes me want to call Bali Hai and ask for the couple's last name. The 1st name was funny.... Yoshi. go figure

Well, if he works for Mizuno he probably got the balls for free or very cheaply, so to him it was nothing to drop 10 balls.

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
