1.) What is your favorite club in your bag, and why?
2.) What is your dream club? If you had no money limit, what club would you buy and why?

My answers

1.) My 60* wedge. I hit it PERFECTLY every time I use it and have complete confidence in it.
2.) I just purchased my dream club. A Nike Sasquatch Sumo Squared 5300 9.5 w/ Diamana Stiff.

i don't have a favorite club but as for "dream" clubs even though nothing is a dream club if you have enough cashflow, i'd like to get two SCRATCH wedges, custom at 53º and 59º or 52º and 57º depending on my setup.

1) My favorite club in my bag is my Forged 660 7 iron, although I love ALL of my clubs, this is by far my favorite because I simply love hitting it ...
2) I've already got it, my forged 660 irons , Original Bulls Eye putter , PTM woods , and my Vokey Oil Can Spin Milled wedges...

My favorite club in my bag would have to be my putter: Titleist Bull-Eye.
My dream club? That would have to be a Scotty Cameron Circa 62 Charcoal Mist No. 1.

My favorite club is my 16 deg. hybrid, its a rescue mid TP and just the fact that i can hit it 260 and straight is baffling to me. If i could get a dream club it would be 695 mb irons. I was close to getting them at the start of the season but got the cb version instead, need the extra forgiveness.

Dream Club : Frankly I spoiled myself because my bag is already pretty sick. Still, if I wanted to get really crazy, I'd think about reshafting the driver if a fitting said it'd help . If I wanted to get really, really crazy, there's a V-Steel 3 wood that TaylorMade only sold in Japan that looks really cool, but I have no idea how I'd hit it.

The dream club I actually want is an authentic Tour Bettinardi BC-1 without the F.I.T. face, at 35", and at ~340 grams. The standard is 330 grams and I find it a little light. Frustratingly, I had a chance to get one of these a few months ago, but couldn't justify the $600 price tag. I regret not pulling that trigger from time to time.

Favorite Club : I've been retooling my swing after taking lessons for the first time in about 6 years (if you're in southern CA I can give you the name of an excellent instructor who used to coach UCLA, PM me), and it's influencing my pick. Still, I think I have to waffle. I love the MP-600, but when my swing is clicking the MP-67s are so PURE that I just don't know. It's one of the two: my MP-600 or the irons, all the way through.
In the bag 8/12/09:

Favourite club (at the moment)... is my TM Superquad driver as I am hitting is well and when I step onto the tee I am confident of where it is going and how far it is going.

Dream club... would be a 15 degree Superquad! But as they don't do them, I'd love to get a brand new original style Taylormade V-Steel 15 degrees with and stick a RE-AX stiff shaft into it. Simple pleasures.

Favorite Club in Bag: I'd have to go with my PING Redwood Anser as my favorite club w/ my PING Tour-W 50* gap wedge as my favorite non-putter club.

Dream Club : Doesn't exist yet. Either the PING Redwood in an Anser 4 style, or maybe the Scotty Cameron in a Newport 2.5 (both are an Anser 2 style with a 1/2 offset flare neck instead of a plumber's neck); In the non-putter category, I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the PING s57, which is based on the same design as the Tour-W wedge.

Favorite club in my bag is the only brand name club:
My putter,
Only played one round with it, but oh boy did it make a difference!

Dream Club:Either go all out with miura forged clubs even though i couldn't hit they well, they are expensive so that makes them "dreamy"

In reality my dream club is probably an FT-I or an FT-5. Which i might be getting due to some great deals on them now!

My favorite club in the bag would have to be my putter right now. I am really putting well considering how I used to putt. I would have to give my 4-wood a second to that.

My dream club/s would either be a new set of true blades that I have not decided on yet or maybe some really good wedges.

my favorite club would be my
Tour Edge 2 hybrid.
from hitting a 200 yard cut to a full 220...I even took that sucker and stuck a 235 par 3 this past weekend (to only 3 putt for a bogey)
it's more reliable than my 3 wood accuracy & trajectory wise (I can't hit my 3 wood for crap since I re-shafted to get a lower ball flight).

my dream club is the Tour Edge Exotics Tour Proto driver - I saw 1 at Golfsmith 3 weeks ago. I was so ready to hop on and pick it up...I tried it out..and COULD NOT HIT IT....So I sadly went back to my car and said: damn I would've been out a few hundred if I hit it well.
Irons wise, the Miura Tournament Blades are awesome

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
