If you are looking for swing advice, here it is:

Book a lesson at golf galaxy. They have video analysis for $30 a lesson.

I saw a pro with a great track record, named top pro in the state a while ago, but it just messed me up.

One lesson @ GG and it already helped. The pro @ GG said he likes it there better becuase it's inside, benefits and year round. The thing he liked the best was that its easy to teach when the student can see themselves.

I made another lesson as soon as I got home. Also they send you the video to your email address.

THUMB UP!

I've had about 5-6 lessons at Golf Galaxy and I can say it really depends on who you have for lessons. My local store went through 3 different pros while I was taking lessons.

The first guy was awesome. I had 2 lessons with him and he did wonders for my game. Then he moved on to managerial duties and they brought in the pro from the other GG here in town. She did absolutely nothing for me. She had me exaggerating movements to "get a feel for it" and all it led to was exaggerating my swing movements on the course. Then they got this latest guy who wanted to start from the ground up. I already had been doing pretty well and I went in to have a specific problem fixed and he wanted to re-work everything.

So, my experience with them has been a little tarnished lately. I really wish the original guy was teaching. I'd probably still be taking lessons. I've thought about asking him if he'd be interested in teaching me on the side, but I haven't really thought of a good way to approach it.

Just tell him what you just told us. Go up to him and ask him. What's the worst thing he can say? "No?". If he helped your game, then it's worth the effort to ask.

    • Can you elaborate on this?  There's a par-4 hole at the course I've played the most (was my home course for over a decade, now 50 miles away but I still go and play there) whose green is below the fairway and I realized recently it's one of three holes on the course I've never made birdie, despite that I often have a short iron into the green for my second shot.  It isn't even that I haven't made birdie, but I realize I often don't hit the green.  My typical play of the hole is to have a near-GIR and sometimes I get up and down, but not as often as I would if I were trying to 2-putt.
