So the next time you blade a wedge shot and it doesn't check up are you going to send the ball packing? We're not talking about a slight mishit here, when I blade a shot it's a crap shoot and the results are hardly predictable. That is like saying this ball is really good because last time I hit a tree with it, the ball bounced right back to the middle of the fairway instead of it going deeper.

No, I blame myself for a bladed wedge, which happens once, if any per round. But now, I'm only playing high-end balls and its nice to have the luxury of being on the green for a birdie putt on a mis-hit.

What I Play:

Driver: Sasquatch SUMO² 9.5º Stiff
Hybrid: HiBore 16º (3W replacement)
Irons: Staff Ci6 3-PW StiffWedges: Vokey Spin Milled 54.10 60.04Putter: Newport Studio Style 35"Ball: Pro V1xAge: 15

Honestly I really don't understand why you even care how I come to my decisions...? You are reading a little too much into this topic IMO.

I am always open to giving and receiving advice about all aspects of golf and if you are not wanting to take my advice then don't. I just would hate to see you or anyone else be deterred to play golf because of the expectation that people will have of this magic ball. I am sure your understanding of me caring or not would be different if I agreed with your method of making your decision. Although I agree with your choice of ball to use I just don’t want you to have the expectation that the ball will be magical on bad shots.

I myself have been using this ball for 2 years and although it performs great when shots are executed, I have found that they perform worse then other balls when the execution isn't right on. The extra spin, weather it be back-spin or side-spin is not always wanted.

Lets put this to rest. The semi-bladed chip shot that checked up for me is what OPENED my eyes to what this ball was really capable. It proved to me (by accident) the spin power of this ball. It doesnt mean I am only going to play Pro VI's now. I love to play them when I find them though. I am capable like I said of getting other balls to check just fine (bridgestone e5). I agree with you that it is not some kind of magic ball. In fact I think I see your point a little clearer now. I certainly don't think that I will be able to blade shots and have them end up just fine because I used a pro v1.

I am a single digit handicapper, and I have recently paid attention to the balls I've been using. Previously as I was learning the game, I would use anything I could get my hands on ... and my dad would buy me dozens of balls as he is a golf ball junkie :)

Lately I have pulled out some old Titleist balls that he got for me (I think one dozen is NXT, and another is NXT tour), and man I love those balls. They do putt nice & soft, and they stop on a dime when hitting onto the green.

I need to get through all these older Titleist balls before I move up to the ProV series ... but thanks for all your recommendations on the ball. I can't wait to try them out, I am pretty sure I will love them!

I never really paid any attention to what ball I used until I found a ball in the bush that I really liked. It seemed to go straighter, longer, spin more, and just feel better to hit in general. After a few holes I looked the ball over to find out what it was. Of course it was a Pro V1. I ended up losing it in the water after playing 9 holes with it.

That was about a week ago. Now I got a dozen used pro v1’s on there way to my house so I can play a few rounds with them and see it they really make a difference.

    • So, the struggle right now with the driver is that I’m dipping down with the body, shallowing wrongly.  When I try to get my arms down, I end up not turning much at all. End up hitting the sweeping overdraws or if I dip with the body then I’ll hit massive pushes. I’m trying to turn better with the body and also get the arms down at the same time. Easier with the irons than it does the driver. also, here’s an image when you almost entirely missed the ball. 🤣🤣🤣

    • You misread. Knee height should be between ball height and standing. Trigonometry. If you are changing the length of your arm for each of them then the trial is pointless. No?
    • I hear you and hence I did say empty threats. Meaning sternly worded signs but no person to person confrontations. The jerks won't care but it does help with the folks who still have an iota of conscience but just don't think it/forget, or get de-sensitized to a point where just like the jerks, they don't care either.
    • Unfortunately in today's world often times "Transgressions" are overlooked to avoid a potentially violent confrontation.  Just think how many times you hear about road-rage because someone honked a horn at another motorist or someone gets shot over some minor issue.  It would be nice to see them kicked off the course but nobody wants to be the 1 out of a 1000 rangers that gets shot by some stupid jerk.
