Happiness is a chip and a one putt green.

I've have been really hitting the short game lately and it has paid some great dividends. I've been having rounds with multiple one put greens all because of the close chip. I still play a par 4 as a par 5, and I have been playing pretty good bogey golf, but I find the thing that gets me to par (me being a 40x year old tow truck driver with odd hours/ex wife and a bad back) is the good chip.

Seriously, chipping close get me really exited (and low scores.)

Yeah, a lot of pressure. Rise above it. Harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness energy, block bad.
Feel the flow, Happy. It's circular. It's Like a carousel. You get on the horse. It goes up, down and around. Circular. Circle. With the music, the flow. All good things.I...

Don't get too excited over the putt! When I was working on my short game and started chipping it close more often, my scores didn't drop at first because I'd miss from 5' due to being too excited.

Get excited after it goes in, and calm down in time for the next hole.

That having been said, yeah, it's a great feeling, isn't it?

True - never get excited til the ball is in the hole...

But you are right, its an awesome feel when you know you can chip it close and have a real chance of up and down when its necessary. This also influences your decisions when you are in a though spot where you have to decide if you lay up or try something stupid - you go more often with the lay up since you know you can get up&down; often enough.

Excellent advise! Breath and swing crisp! And you know I have found that I no longer try the miracle shot, instead I just try to get it on the short stuff to play the chip. It works.
