Unfortunately most stores do not have more than 10 left-handed demo clubs, and of course I don't like any of them, so I'm forced to buy blindly and based on others' recommendations.

Right now the two clubs I'm looking at are used X-16 irons or Big Bertha 2004 irons. Is one better than the other? They are both listed in "Very good" condition -from Callaway preowned - and about the same price.

I'm a high handicapper, and I hear these are very forgiving (actually I hear just about all Callaway clubs are very forgiving).

The Big Berthas would probably fit your current game the best as they are more forgiving than the X-16s. The X-16s are slightly less forgiving but they'll be the better club for you in the long run as your handicap lowers.

I don't think you can make a bad decision purchasing either set.

Before making a blind purchase... go and get fitted so you know if you have to have them turned up or flattened. For me... this was the biggest help to my game when I first started playing.

13 Wedges
1 Putter
