One of the advantages of running The Sand Trap is that I tend to collect clubs too. Unfortunately, I don't care for all of them, and I give most away to reduce clutter.

Well I am new to the board but you can consider me a friend and I am always wanting to help a friend in need. I would love to help you reduce the clutter. Anything you are needing to get rid of, for my favorite price, Free 90 Free, just PM me or let good ol' Cody T know, lol.

Oh boy, you have to watch out for this guy. Those new golfers are kinda crazy!

As for me, I don't have much equipment as far as clubs goes. I am pretty good with getting something and sticking with it for a long time. I have new clubs, and I'll probably have those for a long time. The only thing I want to change is possibly my putter, but I'm content with everything else.

Everardo, you can send me one of those Scotty Camerons. I've been wanting a Scotty lately to complete my golf set. :)

Everardo... It is an illness and I don't think counseling or medical intervention can help you. Once you start down the path to the dark, er, light side there is no turning back.

Nice collection! BTW, I have enough trouble from one side of the ball to be switching like you do.

Something in my heart tells me to find a SC JAT, looks so sweet! I only own two putters, the one in my bag is a Ping AnserF with the Titanium Insert (same putter DiMarco uses). The putter before the ping was a Odyssey Dual Force 330. I just might half to get a JAT just to have and put away till I feel a need to switch putters again, or maybe a Newport Beach, or one of those new Studio Design mid-slants. So many choices! awwww

Well I can definitely agree that its an illness. I think I have about 5 putters right now. Ping isopure, never compromise stubby, yes sophia, futura knock off and an old wilson blade.

I have 4 sets of irons right now. Two sets of titleist 990b, wilson fatshafts and an old set of wilson 1200's with some sort of counter torque shaft or something. (full set 1, 3, 4, 5, wood 2-pw putter in an old leather bag for 25 bucks at a yard sale, I,ll never play them but hey for 25 bucks you can't go wrong.)

I'm planning on getting a cameron for my birthday (end of jan.) Haven't quite settled on which one but I just love the feel of these things. Plus I'm not far from the home of cameron up at table rock golf club. They have quite a selection up there.

Now if I can just talk the wife into letting me get the new titleist 735's I'll be all set.

I still have the original set of women's clubs I bought over the internet as well as two more sets of irons hanging around. Barry and I have a collection of mismatched clubs in an extra golf bag in our furnace room.

We even have a group of golf clubs and assorted training aids in our living room!

I see my husband switch off between putters and wedges alot but I stick with what's currently in my bag.

My Titleist Vokey Spin Milled Wedges rule!

Sincerely,
Stacy Solomon

At one point in time during the mid-90s I had 7 sets of irons, two bags full of woods/drivers and another bag full of putters/wedges, not to mention several dozen balls. Sure, I was the equipment editor for a golf magazine and hadn't paid for any of it, but it was still something of a sickness.

The best was the day we got a new water heater. The plumber came over to install the new heater and had to walk past my golf storage area to get there. He stopped and said, "Dude, either you're a pro golfer, or you've got a real expensive problem." He ended up waiving his labor fee for a couple dozen Maxfli Revolutions (back when they were a hot ball to play).

Most of it is gone now, and my friends and relatives have been the beneficiaries. But I still have all the putters, on the theory that every putter is just waiting for another chance to come off the bench and be a hero.

Despite all the putters I have, I still find myself lingering at the putter coral at used club shops and thinking, "Hmm, I would really like to have a 34" BeCu Anser 2..."

in the bag today:

Well the bug bit me again...damn that thing. The newest putter that will be joining my arsenal is a Scotty Cameron Futura Long putter. I tried a long putter of my buddies and kinda liked it so I figured what the hell and I'll have to include it in my Putter Test now.

    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
