Longer Clubs Or Poor Address?

I've noticed now that I've started taking video of myself that I am waaaay bent over at address. I'm 6'2" so I guess it wouldn't be too shocking, except I've had my clubs lengthened and fitted to my wrist to ground height. They're up 3/4" right now.

The problem I think is that I'm unusual in that I have a really absurdly long torso and normal sized legs so I have to make a big bend from the waist to get down to my address position. Of course I've heard you want to be as straight up and down as possible as being too bent over is bad for your back and tall pros from the old days had back problems because of it.

So I guess I'm asking, is my address bad? Or should I be lengthening my clubs again. How far would be good to straighten my back but not lose a significant amount of control?

Here's a picture of me at address with a 5-iron:

EDIT: Oh and yeah I'm a little back on my heels in this picture. I've since corrected that, but the problem remains the same. It's just the only good picture I had of my down the line with a mid iron. Thanks in advance

I have a 37.5" wrist to floor and have experienced similar problems. My problem stems from short arms on a larger torso though. It helped me to find what was the correct way to stay balanced.

You really want to get your armpit, knees, and balls of your feet in line (down the line view). This is often called a line of balance in golf books. Right now your armpit is way in front and your knees are too far back.

I get to the ball by first bending my knees FORWARD towards the ball until I feel an athletic feel. My weight is too much on my toes at that point. Then I bend (pushing butt back and keeping spine straight) until I am balanced.

I think once you get your knees closer to the ball you will see improvements.

    • Day 549, May 4, 2024 After lessons and working with Natalie, hit some balls for awhile. Just backswing stuff. Forgot about the slightly shorter stuff, though I'm sure it was as they were only about 75% speed with brief pauses.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
