I want to start out first by saying, this is a phenominal website with an abundance of information for both newbies and veterans. Just about every question I have had or thought about so far, I have found in these forums.

And now a little background on myself. About 8 years ago I became interested in the game of Golf. I bought a nice used set of Ping Eye2's and some Taylor Made woods and soon started taking lessons. I was making fairly well progress when soon after I had some major lower back issues. Long story short, I ended up having back surgury twice and giving up my pusuit to learn the game. Fast forward to today, I am doing ton's better and again have a hunger to learn and play the game. I have again been pricing clubs and look forward to signing up for some lessons with a professional trainer so I can get pointed in the right direction from the start. I will be frequenting this board often soliciting input and seeking knowledge. I look forward to chatting with, and seeking help from everyone on this forum.

So you're from Oklahoma and you got interested 8 years ago.

Did it have anything to do with Tiger and the 2001 US Open at Southern Hills?

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

Cool...

I was working for a company in down town Tulsa when the 2001 US Open came to Southern Hills and corporate had an extra ticket they offered me.

It looked so easy I bought a $40 set of clubs from a pawn shop and I have been playing ever since.

The timeline was right, so I figured your story was similar.

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"
