I'm going on vacation from Wednesday to Sunday and want to know if there are any good golf courses around Orange Beach, AL. I need a 9 hole rate, as I am only going to play 9.

Nice course preferrably, but price needs to be cheap.

I was thinking of there but can get Glen Lakes for FREE because of my dad's co-worker.

So we are going there. It looks very nice, looks links-ish.

Is Lost Key any good? I can golf there for free as well.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going to play Lost Key AND Glen Lakes. If I can only play one, it's going to be Lost Key though.

I am going to play Craft Farms on friday (another Arnie Course). Supposed to be pretty nice.

Kiva Dunes and Peninsula are both nice, too (KD is a little nicer). They are on the Gulf Shores side though.

How did you swing free golf?

      Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

      Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.

      I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
