Looking at a 5W with graphite shaft for longer courses where my 2H won't do the job. Have seen the Callaway X, Mizuno F50 and TaylorMade R7Ti - all for $100 or less.

Any comments on the above or other options I should consider?

The '07 Burner is a great wood! I have a three wood and it is my favorite club in my bag and it really helps on long holes and keeps it in the fairway like a champ! At least try it before you buy a new 5 wood!

Whats your loft on the 2h?

I think if you have a 2h and a 3w you could just choke down and take an easy swing with the 3w, no point in throwing an extra club in there.

If you don't have a 3w buy a 3w or a strong 4

I have a 3W and a 22degree hybrid. 5W seemed the obvious gap to fill, but now you have me thinking about a second hybrid - 1H or 2H!!

I think hybrids are the way to go. I plan on eliminating woods all together with my hybrids. I feel as though they are much easier to hit and help me be consistent with all my other clubs.

Another Cleveland hybrid might be cheaper (and easier to hit from what I can tell!!)...

Are the Burners worth the money? I can get a Callaway X for $100 or a Cleveland Hibore Hybrid for $80.

I own a burner 3w and 5w

I bought them at the start of this year and cant praise them enough, especially the 5w!

I am not far enough away to take many hacks with the 3w but I can tell you this, they are super easy to hit for some reason from the turf. They go long straight and I love them at address, super confident with them in my hands.

I prefer to take a wack at the 5w over my bobby jones hybrids, and I really like the hybrids!

    • Terry - what a story…I’m about 12 yrs your junior but I do have friends in similar places of life. Like others have said - “go for it”.  The fact that you’re willing to challenge yourself in the midst of dealing with something like Parkinson’s is hero level stuff….looking forward to seeing how this great adventure plays out and make sure to get some of it on video as well.  Make them memories dude!
    • Played nine today. Just went out trying to make a swing that had the feels of what I am working on. I would give it a C- at best. The best swing came on the 9th hole, 220 yard par 3, downwind. I finally made a swing where I felt the pause, and the arms down stuff like I practice. I hit the 4 iron about 215 yards, it rolled just off the back of the green about 20-Ft from the pin.  I might play 10 yards shorter on every iron shot, and make that pause swing, cause I can still hit it about 90-95% the distance.  Distance wedges or 3/4 wedges are going to different. Shanked two of them today trying the pause, arms down stuff. Might spend a bit of time looking at the video on those shots specifically.
    • Day 350: good practice session today. Hit about 25 balls, working slowly on my priority piece. It looks decent in slow motion. Better at full speed but not quite there. Then putted for about an hour. Focused on putts inside 10’ but also did a stack putting session.
    • Two of my golfing Buddie's are left handed. I will play a couple of rounds and use their clubs and see how I do.  Played last Thursday and had the worst game ever. (Playing in really strong winds. (SW @ 20 to 30 mph with > gusts.)  Will let everyone know when I get back out. May not play until Monday.   Thanks everyone, for your encouragement.    Terry
