Last week I found a Callaway HX Hot and I pulled it out of my bag for a backup. Me as a hacker/high handicapper I parred 2 of my last 4 holes. I did also finally decided to try not to swing as hard which I know helped anyway I really know dont know anything about the ball. Thanks for any info.

Right now it's my favorite ball. My swing has gotten repeatable enough that I can tell the difference between balls. It really cuts down on the severity of my fades/slices and it goes a freaking mile when I hit it straight. This ball got me into the 300+ yard club on 3 different occassions and I hit it regularly into the 275+ area. I have found that any abnormal contact (tree, cart path, etc) will damage the cover in one shot. However, if played with nicely, you can get at least one round out of one ball.

It does not check (at least not in my experience) so plan your chips and approach shots to run out a fair amount. I like the feel off the irons and the putter (not clicky).

It's a low spin "distance" ball. So it's a good choice for someone who regularly fights a slice or hook. You can still slice and hook it, but it tends not to do so as much as a higher spin ball would. Lower spin means less height on long shots so more distance.

The HX Hot is the 'longest' ball I've ever played. It's the reason I'm still playing it!

Me too. I tried the NXT Extreme one round along side the HX Hot and the distance was like night and day.

I play the HX Hot as well, but since playing the Callaway Tour ix free samples I got, I'm buying into them. Well worth the $45 for the durability they offer. They are much more durable than the Prov1x, just as long, and just as much spin, if not more.
I don't like how easy I scuff the HX Hot with my 7 iron-56 wedge.

It's a good ball when you have trouble keeping a straight line.. This one is one of the best ones out there along with the Top Flite Freak, TaylorMade Burner TP, NXT Extreme and Nike Ignite or Juice.

decent ball. Not a great feeling ball for around the greens but for the price I would play with them for casual rounds. I will occasionally play one if I find one in good shape.
