I wanted to get out for a twilight tonight and play. I was behind a two some and a four some in front of them, so I was far from rushed to say the least.

I played a couple balls and after the first four holes didn't even keep score. Good thing too, it was without question the worst golf I've played this year. I don't know if its because I was rushing myself or if something was off.

I actually hit seven balls off the tee on the 7th hole. I was determined to get one stinkin ball to stay in play and I proceeded to shank and lose seven warbirds. I'm about ready to leave my damn woods in the bag, they get me in more trouble then they do good for me.

I play by myself from time to time when I need to work out swing issues, I just don't feel like playing with anyone or need to finish quick. I tend to play better alone though, probably due to the absence of pressure.

I've played by myself a few times. I like it because I can focus on my swing and work out little kinks in my game.

It's always more fun to play with another person though.

I play by myself about 1/3 of the time. And I keep playing it down just like a USGA rules official was watching. I actually play better by myself because I can set my own rhythm. Rhythm is everything.

yeh i play wih myself some times often playing more than one ball

I am open to playing both ways.

When I shot my 89 the other day I was alone. No one behind me and a 4 some in front. I was able to focus on my shots and not feel rushed at all.

If I want to really concentrate on my game, I like playing alone because I am not distracted and get into a rythm. I tend to play fast and when I play with others it is hard for me to get into a good rythm and I am distracted with watching and analyzing other peoples swings, how they play particular shot etc. I enjoy both but my game probably improves more when I play alone.

I play by myself at least twice a week and it kind of sucks to be honest with you. I don't really like it. I used to. If there is no one on the course, I don't mind it...I can play nine holes in at the most an hour...

But, when it's backed up and slow, it's really boring. No one to talk to, over analyze each shot, etc...I don't let it flow naturally, that's when I play bad.

Yeah i always play by myself, probably 2/3 of the time.

I enjoy it, it's a good stress reliever when I get out of work and I can try out new things while I'm out. I can hit a few extra balls, work on some chipping if nobody is behind me and putt a few extra as well.

Usually i do it because I don't have many friends who enjoy golf like I do, or if they do they want to out to drive the cart and drink beer. I prefer to walk whether I'm by myself or playing with others.... just play better when I do.

I like to play solo and walk vs. going to the driving range.

I consider them practice rounds and I'll work on different faults/fixes and shots.

I generally score much better when playing in a group.

On topic: I like playing with my friends more than by myself, because they can usually tell me what I'm doing wrong and calm me down when I get frustrated, and I like to do the same for them, but I do play by myself quite often because it gives me more freedom to practice from different yardages or take the same chip or putt 10 or 12 times.

Funny that this comes up. I tried playing Monday by myself. I got through 4 holes before I quit.

I hated it. It was boring. I don't think I'll do it again.

I actually played pretty terrible on my own, I at least enjoy one other person. I am a competitive person by nature and really respond to the added pressure of somebody else being there.

No sir, it took place at the gold course at Bello Woods. Shores couldn't get me out until 7pm and I always get grouped with stooges when I go there. The starter at Bello and Plumbrook both will let me out by myself.

I usually play by myself. I play golf on Sunday mornings at 7:00am. I like playing at that time because I usually have the course to myself, so I dont feel rushed.
By the time Im done playing 9 holes at 9:00am, the course is just started to get busy.

    • That was a good watch. When I started working on pelvis in the backswing. I thought, this sounds contradictory to those leg straightening threads on the site. Erik has already done a correction. Then the last lesson we went more down the route of feeling the right knee gains flex. It doesn’t, but the feeling keeps my knee position in a good range. Also, I just realized how much extra work my right hip needed to do to stabilize the body with the proper weight shift. Those glute and hip stabilizers got worked. 🤣 I wish this evolution in the golf instruction happened 20 years ago! 😭

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: squirt to the right due to to much arm not enough turn. • The first issue Erik spoke about is something we worked on for my swing during both GEARS sessions. GEARS was showing my pelvis center moving towards the ball during the back swing. I wasn’t the 4” guy though! This forced me to correct on the downswing to give myself space. My hip rotation was to high as well. We corrected it by first getting the weight off my heels in my stance and getting my posture correct. Then the feel was shifting back into my right hip at a 45 degree angle. This kept my pelvis center from moving towards the ball at the start of the backswing. I also didn’t sway back as much as I felt I did because of the angle I was shifting. Feel Ain’t Real. The cool thing about GEARS is as you work on something you can see the exact (Real) change happening. On video, it is much harder to spot this issue because of the 2D nature of filming. But I know what to look for now. Sadly, I was hurt all last year and most of this year so I really haven’t been able to work on it much. I did do a lot of backswing work though.
