"Draw" Woods?

I've been noticing lately how many clubmakers have "draw" versions of their drivers and fairway woods. Exactly what is the purpose of such clubs? Are they designed to optimize the flight characteristics of draw hitters? Do they promote draw ball flight for straight and fade hitters? Are they supposed to alleviate hooks?

The clubface is set so that slicers slice it less, and faders keep it straight.

A draw wood has its weight concentrated more in the heel of the club so the club face closes faster through impact.

I use an R7 draw 3-wood, and really the only thing I've noticed differently is it's easier to draw the ball when I'm trying, it doesn't necessarily make it impossible to slice the ball. I know because I've hit my fair share of banana balls with it.

Exactly... That's the reason I bought it. I liked the R7 Draw for a while, but think the best thing to do is get your swing "kinks" worked out like I'm trying to do right now.

The draw drivers have a closed face of about 2 degrees and help aid players who have problems with slicing the ball.

Some of the TP model drivers from Taylor Made have an open face that helps player who hook the ball.

ks- not exactly, they have an open face for players who either already draw, or who want to work the ball


My friend has a draw hybrid.. I play a nautral draw and i slice the living hell out of it..
