Looks like you are holding driver. That said, your ball position is too far back. you want it about an inch inside your left heel. Looks like you have good tempo right now and looks like you are making a good shoulder turn with no reverse pivot.

Do you have a Down The Line view? Also, if you upload on Swing Academy i can slow motion the video and provide more help

i will try to get the different view, i've never used swing academy, is it as simple as photobucket?? .... when you say the ball is too far back, i've worked on trying to get it further up (i do play it back some) but i seem to hook it when i do that, any reason that could be?

Yes, swing academy is easy to use. Its free and you just upload the videos. It allows you to slow motion them and thats the best way to analyze your swing.

If you are consistently hooking the ball when it is placed in the proper position, you are probably releasing the club too early. This is causing the face to close slightly at impact and hook the ball. Another reason could be your grip is too strong, and therefore you to hook the ball. A third is that mentally, you feel the ball is too forward and you wont be able to reach it with your club. This causes you to shift laterally towards the ball and therefore alters the clubface at impact. Any of these sound plausible?

that particular shot started about 5 yards left of my target and faded back to it, not much at all ... im mainly just trying to keep consistent

1. my divots are normally at or just right of my targets, that means im swinging on the correct plane, i think i may be flipping my wrists too much on occasion

2. my golf buddies say my grip is neutral ??? im not sure how to tell 3. theres a good chance its mental

grip is extraordinarily important. Improper grip wont allow you to develop adequate lag, allow you to hit down properly, or allow you to release the club. Check out my thread called "gripping the club". theres a video in there. i suggest watching it. also. ball position wise---place the ball in the proper location and just take your swing. Focus on not compensating for the ball position and trust that that is were its supposed to be. You still want to be takign a normal stroke at the ball. Do it at the driving range. Worse comes to worst, you hit a bad shot. No big deal.

I would like to see a closeup of your grip. Your right hand looks very strong but it is hard to tell. The swing looks alright. You may be straightening your right leg on the backswing but that is much easier to tell with a down-the-line video. What is your handicap? What specific problems are you trying to address?

    • Day 1: After a long practice layoff due to injury, vacation, winter darkness, and work stuff, I'm trying to start back up again. Today I just hit balls with keys from my lesson 6-ish weeks ago; neutral grip and centered turn. Gonna work with that for a few weeks, see how it goes, and then get a lesson scheduled.
    • It’s not live on free to air tv in the UK, and hasn’t been since 1995. ( I pay a subscription to Sky for generally good golf coverage). There are limited highlights on the BBC for some golf events, but that’s it. Are other/all PGA events on NBC?  Allowing ticket scalping is a systemic failure across sports and showbiz, which could be legislated against, but in the UK is not in any meaningful way. I don’t know much about the secondary market in the US or anti scalping measures.  Charging more to keep prices down is an interesting concept, in practice no doubt you are right even if It sounds a bit Catch 22  Do you think sports tickets and broadcast rights  should be sold on a purely capitalist basis, or is there an argument to say that some sports might benefit more from wider exposure and affordable access. ( golf in the US is apparently not one of these if tickets sold out at those prices so quickly)  Fans might benefit from cheaper tickets and in the UK at least, TV coverage that reaches a wider audience.
