Alright guys so heres my problem, with my driver I hit pretty much only slices. I dont think my swing has much to do with it, because all of my irons go straight. I stupidly bought a R shaft but my swing speed averages 100.3mph. So is going to a stiff shaft a) going to help at all and b) going to be worth it? Should I just go buy another driver and sell this one?

In my opinion what I would go the golf store and hit the same driver with a stiff shaft and see if you see the difference. I would also try another driver you are considering and have them check you swing on a monitor and have them make a recommendation on the shaft and driver.

I straightened out my drives when I went to a stiffer shaft. I don't know that it was all about the stiffness. I think that it was a combination of the stiffness and the decrease in torque. I still can't hit a flimsy shafted Wal-Mart driver straight, always a power fade to a slice. But I can hit a nice draw with my driver. It is an extra stiff. My swing speed doesn't warrant the extra stiff, but I really like the solid feel and the lower torque.

A stiffer shaft should tighten up shot dispersion....all things being equal.

It will also change trajectory.

When I started playing again, my thoughts were to replace the shaft in my driver. I wanted a higher trajectory...and wanted the V2 HL shaft. The cost to do so was about $120...I didn't shop around a great deal.

I was able to order a new PING G-10 made to my specs for $299 ( with this shaft).

Since my old driver had a 300cc sized head, I felt it was time to spend the yen and upgrade to a 460cc head.

If I had your driver, I may reshaft to a premium shaft.

if i am you should change to a newer driver and a XS shaft. Although it may be a little too stiff it should make the ball go straighter since i guess you should hit the ball around 240 or so. Maybe go for a Taylor Made Tour burner or something.
