I swing around 85-90, what would be a good ball to try with that speed? Im currently using the NXT-Tour but is that low enough for that speed? Also what other ones are worth trying. I am still kinda new so trying to find something that works for me. Thanks for any input.

Try the bridgestone e5+ its a good deal and provides excellent distance with some amount of spin. The nxt tour should be able to work for you though

Just stick with the NXT tour and don't ever look back until you get in the low teens on your handicap. Then maybe, maybe shop around.

You and I are in about the same range for swing speed. I have played NXT Tour/Extreme, e5+/e6+, Srixson Trispeed, Callaway HX Hot, Pinnacle Platinum Feel, and Top Flite D2 Feel. All of them are good balls IMO. If one particular ball feels best to you, go with that. Otherwise, go with the one that you can get the best deal on.

NXT Tour, HX Hot, and e5/e6 would be my recommendations. I've played them all. As far as which one fits you, it depends on what your game needs or what you prefer. The NXT Tour is a great value ball for feel and spin. The HX Hot is very long, but doesn't have as good of feel. I would say the e5/e6 is a middle of the road ball. Nothing exceptional about it.

for that speed, I'd go with a lower compression ball. The NXT Tour I think is around 90. That's a great ball to play, and I'll even play it for the 1st few holes of a round until I fully get warmed up..or even the entire round.

The Bridgestone balls are GREAT too.

I really love this ball!!!!!!!!!!!!

My swing speed was high 80's low 90's last time I checked. Couldn't be happier with this ball. I rate it up there very....very close to the NXT Tour....at least as far as how it performs for me.

Solid advice....I've heard many good players offer the same advice to the bogey golfers out there.....get in the low teens and maybe switch over to the ProV1 or Bridgestone 330S or 330.

    • Wow that was disingenuous. Like, let’s ignore that golfers actually rotate. It isn’t all side bend. Has incorrect or excessive side bend hurt golfers sure. In no way are golfers taught to just fling their hips towards the target. To basically claim it’s him versus this evil golf instruction industry is just disingenuous.

    • I'm starting to move with some speed and confidence. Carried the fairway bunker 225 yards out on the 17th yesterday fairly comfortably. I don't think it was a one off drive either. Pretty much back to game speed. On another note it doesn't seem like my pelvis is nearly as thrusty compared to a this time last year. I hope I'm judging that correctly. It's an ongoing battle.
