Yesterday before playing I took my bag out of the car and went to get the cart. As I was getting in the cart, someone backed out of the space across from my SUV and knocked my bag over. The jerk took off. I looked at the clubs and everything looked ok but on my first drive my new Callaway driver, an FT-5, snapped about ten inches from the hosel. I was bummed, but played pretty good with my 3w and shot a 85.
After my round I went to my golf shop to see if they could reshaft my driver and how long would it take. I was not looking for a freebie as it was my fault.
My sales guy said he would call Callaway and talk to them for me. I was very surprised that after the rep verified the serial number she informed my guy they would over night a brand new FT-5 to me. FREE of CHARGE!

Callaway has earned a customer for life. I am still very much on cloud 9 as I thought that I was going to be out 100 bucks or so for the shaft and labor.
Callaway went above and beyond in my book and I just wanted to share.
I am in no way associated with them other than playing one of their clubs. My irons and putter are both Ping.

Yep, a lot of threads on here praising Callaway's customer service. When it's time for a new club, and it's a debate between ____ and Callaway - I'm picking Callaway.

My experiences with Callaway's customer service department mirror yours. They are masters at satisfying customers and that fact is a result of superior training by their company.

I am in sales and marketing and it is hard to impress me, but let me tell you that on three separate occassions, Callaway's customer service reps exceeded my expectations. In this regard, they are among the very best in their industry and they deserve every accolade.

I had a similar experience. Callaway, likewise, has earned a customer for life in me.

I am very happy, the driver selection process was difficult one for me and I feel that this helps cement the notion that I made the correct choice. I am also glad I went to a small local shop vs going through an internet company. I use the net for many things but the few bucks I would have saved is not worth the grief of dealing with the issue myself.

I had a couple BB07 fw's last year and I called Callaway seeing if they had some other type of head covers I could buy from them that weren't so foo foo. They sent me two full sets of headcovers for free.

They have excellent customer service.

Just got back from the golf shop as they just got my new driver in.
Perfect replacement.
Only concern was that I wish it would have came in the morning as today was beautiful, 85 and sunny, which for August around here is a delight in itself and I now don't have time to even hit a bucket of balls as I am off to the City to catch Amos Lee in concert.

Mizuno did the same for me in a situation that was probably my fault. About 10 years ago I purchased forged T-Zoid Pro irons and used neoprene iron covers from the start. Within the first two months I had rust in the grooves. Mizuno said it was probably due to the iron covers trapping moisture but they replaced all the heads anyway. THey were really understanding about the whole situation.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
