wedge suggestions?

So ive been playing with the Cleveland 588 reg. wedges..

I need to buy a couple new ones, my 56 is too worn and i need less loft than a 53...
So decided it would be cheaper to just buy a new set of 52, 56, 60 set. Cause they all have to match of course.

What does everybody suggest?

the CG12 grooves are more hype than actual performance IMHO....

Vokeys are clicky, Forged wedges are heavy but soft, and real nice wedges (japanese models, scratch etc etc) are expensive and a massive hit to the wallet

In general I've been very disapointed with pretty much every wedge I see out there

Well...i would suggest the SV Tours, but I honestly don't like them anymore. I used to, but I played a TP RAC, Vokey Spin Mill and a cg12 last week and let me tell you.... any one of those wedges outperform the sv's. can't lose with any of those.

I'm not a fan of the vokeys' feel. The CG12 and the vokeys don't seem to have a very versatile grind so I would stay away from both of those personally. I like the 2 wedges I have. The tm rac z tp has a great amount of spin and pretty good feel (much better than the vokey imo). The x-forged has TONS of spin with the new md grooves (which consequently leads to ripped balls) and a great c-grind with good feel. If I were getting 52/56/60 I think I would get the rac z tps.

I recommend the Mizuno wedges. They are forged and have a great feel. Plus, I get a huge amount of spin out of mine compared to my old 588's, but not so crazy as to pull everything back off of the green. They have that legendary Mizuno buttery feel similar to their irons.

how is the weight in the mizunos? I have found forged wedges to be HEAVY!

$300 for a Scratch Wedge is a little much.

JLM Scratch (Their retail models) are around $175, google them. If you can't spend that much the X-forged are amazing, or you could wait for the new vokeys coming out, or the CG14 which seems to be the wedge all the tour players are putting in their bags right now.

Vokeys are nice. Ive got a couple and they work well. Ive heard great things about Mizuno wedges too.
If I were in the market for some new wedges, Id probably go with a set of Mizuno MP-Ts.

Try the Srixon WG706 wedges. Very underrated manufacturer IMO. I also really like the old CG10's. You can find the Srixon's for about $70 each and the CG10's for $50. Classic shape on both.

I picked up a set of the Srixon wedges (the old WG504's) and think they will be in bag soon.
