. Plus, I'm surprised that Tiger did something so dumb as to continue to play on his bum knee. If there's one thing that's defined his career it's that he's been the smartest guy out there.

I wouldn't call it stupid. He said that he thought about withdrawing, but the fans were so receptive and he couldn't just leave them , but the real reason had to be that he really wanted to win. And he did. It's all that matters to him. Okay, amybe a little stupid, but more stubborn than anything.

That's the only real sad commentary on Golf these days (besides the outrageous greens fees being charge by a few local courses) - one guy goes on the shelf, and no one is able to truly capitalize. I'm not sure if it's that because the injured player is that good, or that the competition is just not there to make it happen. Vijay and Harrington are the only ones who seem to be getting the job done on a somewhat consistent basis - is this really the way it is?

Talk about a competitive gap...

How does this compare to the Nicklaus / Palmer days?

So here's what I'm thinking of doing...assuming all the people didn't subscribe to this forum, I'll be private messaging all these premature ejaculating "paddy harrington" bandwagon jumpers 'I TOLD YOU SO'! A guy wins a couple tournaments and all of a sudden he's Gods greatest gift to golf???!!??!??!?!?!?

C'mon people. Let me guess...after last week all you people thought Vijay was gonna "eat Tigers lunch" next season...blah blah blah. Tiger may never be the same, but Padraigs days of the sun shining on a dogs ass is over.

Padraig sure is "nasty".

So he won two tournaments back to back, one The Open Championship, which he in fact won two years in a row, a feat that has occured only sixteen times in the history of golf, and not for any European player since James Braid in 1905-06. And, oh, that other tournament was the PGA Championship. Sounds like a real hacker. Add to that he's a class act and has a real college education, and you're right, it's a wonder anyone would get behind Harrington.

Sorry buddy, although I understand your opinion, this post was over the line and I found it offensive. Paddy didn't live up to all the hype for the Fedex Cup playoffs, but no-one is really sure why. Maybe to him, winning 10 mil really isn't what the game is all about.

Don't demean a proven champion caliber player just to satisfy your own need for self affirmation on an internet forum.

No link on YouTube or anything, but according to the Golf Channel schedule, there are two Playing Lessons with Harrington coming up this Fri, 9/19, from 8:30-9:30 am. I assume the one I saw was one of those. It was shot at a course in Ireland, and as always, he came across as a really great guy.

are you serious? this guy won't touch Tiger. Pad won because he was going against Sergio. If Sergio doesn't hit a ball directly into the water, they are atleast in a playoff. Once again, Sergio handed this away.

The stupidity of this comment beggars belief

I wish we could trade Kenny Perry to the European Ryder Cup team for Paddy.

Why? The guy won half a point in the last Ryder Cup.

And the other guy (Perry) decided to skip majors (all of them maybe?)

He played the PGA. He didn't qualify for The Masters or The U.S. Open.

Oh, ok. I thought it might have been something like that.

Even at that. I dunno about you, but I'd rather have Paddy on my team...

Oh, ok. I thought it might have been something like that.

I could also point out that he missed two cuts in a row at his recent "playoff" appearances and failed to qualify for the Tour Championship.

Bah! Playoff shmayoff.

Nobody cares about those (I know I've never watched a round of it). He's just saving himself for the RC...XD
And Perry hasn't exactly torn the playoffs apart either. What is he? 13th?

... says the guy from North Ireland.

Kenny made the cut, at least, and will be in the Tour Championship. More than one can say for ol' Paddy.

    • Who freaking cares about Tom Watson here? Why do you keep talking about ONE other dude, who overlapped Jack less than you seem to realize? You've now earned your timeout.
    • Tom Watson's peak ability possibilty surpasses Jack. He won 6 PGA Tour    No he did not. That is factually false. Just on the face, what you just wrote should immediately seem absurd to you. You are golf pro. Have you not followed golf the last 15 years at all?
    • Dude, for the umpteenth time now… Someone achieving less in more time is not a good argument. When he wasn't playing golf? Yeah, wow, what a statement! FFS, man. No, it isn't. Tiger won more PGA Tour events, each of which had stronger and deeper fields than any of the major victories Jack had. Jack played against (slightly exaggerating) ten year olds. Cool for him, easy way to rack up top tens, top threes, and wins. I don't care about that. Tiger set more strokes gained and scoring average records than Jack ever did, even over a LONGER period of time (if you want to keep pushing that, which is dumb). Ha, bull.
    • Wordle 1,057 4/6 🟨⬜🟨⬜⬜ ⬜🟩⬜🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟨🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
    • Jack's total output is way ahead.  Jack third and 1st in strokes gained at age 43 and 44.  If this were debated like baseball no one would think Tiger is the GOAT.  When I looked up Jack's 83 and 84 strokes gained,  he had 14 top 10s in 28 events in just those two years he was "non-existent". (And he had 15 the two years before that and won two majors three years before)  I was curious to see how many top 10s Tiger has had since 2014.  He has had 13 top 10s in a decade.
