Well i went over to a friend who sales used golf balls and turns out he is selling a couple of clubs, i am going to try them out friday but i wanted to get ur guys opinion on them the driver is a Titleist Titanium 975d with a Grafalloy pro lite shaft and a 9.5 degree, and he wants 25 for it and it is in great condition. The 3 wood is a synchron II fairway series 13 degree and he wants 15 for it, it is also in great condition. So let me know what u guys thank. And by the way he sold me a Dozen top flite D2s in almost new condition for $4 and bought Prov1s with small scuffs for quarter a piece.

Its not always how you drive the ball, but how it arrives.

975D is what Tiger used many moons ago, small sweet spot and the 13 degree fairway wood is a challenge to get up in the air from the fairways, but the price sounds right.

I had that driver & shaft (burgandy colored shaft) in a stiff flex 9.5 degree....very good driver that responded well when I tried to step on it. I don't hardly see how you can go wrong for $25.

Buy all the balls he'll sell you at those prices. I can't speak on the 3 wood.

alright thanks guys! ill let u know if i get it or not! and i cant buy all the balls he's got lol, he has over a 1000 just from walking on golf courses on weekends and looking for them lol. its crazy how many hes got, and all different brands.

Its not always how you drive the ball, but how it arrives.

alright so i went to play today to try them out, i did ok with the driver at the range but when i got to the course i did great! i hit everything straight and i hit it around 50 yards average more than i normally do. As for the three wood, i do a lot better off the tee with it than i do with my 3 wood and i can get more distance out of it. But this is where it gets hard, i love them both but i can only afford one (i mean i have the money to get them both but i dont think i wanna spend that much of money) so which do u guys think i should get, i have to make my final decision by sunday so please please let me know what u guys think!! thanks

I'd get the driver, the shaft is worth that! And if you hit it straight you won't need to tee off with the 3 wood. I'd say a 13 degree 3 wood is useless off the deck for 95% of amateur golfers.

alright thanks stacey, i was leaning towards that anyways, i were goin campin this weekend and where we camp they have a huge open field where u can drive (they have it marked off 100 150 and 200 yards so while everyone else fishes i will drive all day sat. lol so i will try everything out and make sure that i want it , because i also might have been hitting better cause i was hitting with a prov1 instead of top flite, but i highly doubt that a ball will make 50 yards difference lol

You don't want to pay that much? It's $40. Deal with it, most golf rounds cost more than that.

I just got some picture in my head of someone teeing a ball up and getting shot down...

i know it is a really great deal and i agree with u but i also have to save up for a car and a couple of other things since i get my licens in april. It is a really good deal but i dont use my three wood that much anyways and i dont think that its worth it for me to get if im not gonna use it that much, but im gonna see if i can cut a deal with him if i get em both

If it was me I'd take my driver, 4 hybrid, 8 iron, sand wedge and my Remington BDL .270. And a fishing pole, and some plastic worms, and a six pack......

well i ended up taking all my clubs a did a little fishing and a lot of golfing, i practice with everything in my bag, from driver to 3 wood and 3iron-pw and also sw, i tried all kinds of different things, i think next time a go play golf i will shoot 5 or 6 lower than my normal, if i do as good as i did today and yesterday, only thing that really needs workin on now is my putting.

    • Day 12: did the yardstick putting drill for a bit while watching tv.
    • Hole 6, 185 uphill par 3, wind out of the right. I hit a 7 iron to 5-FT left of the pin. The ball landed about 185.5 yards. I drained the putt for a birdie, and most likely a skin.  2nd place is more of a best swing made. 110 yard wedge shot, where I did what I wanted in the back swing and downswing.  I hit a 75% partial wedge 95%. It was flushed, flighted, and beautiful to watch fly over the green. 🤣. I will need to redial in the wedges sometime. Since I am making an effort to make my former 3/4 swing length my full swing length.
    • Is that like "the longest yardstick you can find"? I don't have Airtags but I'd call all of them Airtags too.!
    • Yea, that makes sense.  I remember an Open tournament when they brought out the wind meter one day because balls were being blown around the green. I think it was 45+ sustained, which probably means 60 mph gusts.  I think for the most part, it isn't something that needs to be taken into account.  Also, a golf ball is designed to optimally move through the air. It has better aerodynamics than a sphere.  Thanks for your expertise on this. That makes sense. I know about how wind diminishes the lower in height you go. I didn't know it went near zero at the ground. I deal more with tall structures (utility poles), and we have to take into account height and impacts of wind on the pole. A bit of experience, but wasn't sure how close to zero, non-impactful it was on the golf ball on the ground.
