Is it better to hover the driver behind the ball or let it rest on the ground just before you hit it off the tee?

I've always let it rest on the ground but I know some people hover it too. Does it matter?

Thanks!

whatever your comfortable with and can hit solid shots with .. I lay mine on the ground .. I feel if I pick it up I won't have a consisitent ball position.

I ground mine and give it a little shimmy on the ground before starting. In the rare case where I'm teeing high for a high shot I might hover it to help prevent sliding the face under the ball.

Never thought about it before. but after just doing a pre-shot routine with my driver I realize that I hover. I do ground it initially to get my setup. But then do a few waggles (hovering) and hit.

I waggle and rest it on the ground before my takeaway. I tried hovering it before and it felt kinda odd. It's all personal preference I think.

I'm a hoverer. If I ground my driver I end up taking a divot. Something about hovering just helps reinforce lifting the ball off the tee.
