i landed the ball on 2nd shot in a ditch-like path filled with lava rocks going across the fairway from one side to the other. i had no shot. so here i go to drop the ball behind the obstacle instead of in front. the width of the ditch/ rocks was only like 5-8 feet with no water. so i drop about 5 feet back, i line up and take my shot thinking no problem to clear. ball hits rock, deflects back to my mouth, rips my right lower lip and breaks my front top right tooth in half. i now have a porcelain tooth replacement.

On a 134 downhill par 3 at my home course, there is a tree where the limbs block the view and the shot into the left side of the green. My threesome teed off on this hole and I saw the weirdest thing!

One of my playing partners hit to the left pin location and stepped to the right to see his ball location. He kept stepping over then after the ball missed to the left he headed to the cart. Just a couple steps later, he looks down. To our surprise the tee marker was impaled in his leg just above the ankle between his two lower leg bones (tibia and fibia maybe?). The 4-6" inch spike had completely punctured his leg. Apparently, his stepped on the tee marker watching his shot and some how it rolled up as his klutzy butt tripped, and buried itself to the hilt in his leg. My other partner removed his Haynes tee from underneath his polo shirt and we made a makeshift bandage. Dude finished the round and played no worse than usual. Well, he plays pretty poorly anyway.

DynamicDave your accident needs to be in a Adam Sandler movie. Nothing like that, one of the first times I was out golfing a couple of years ago these guys pull up and want us to play through. Being the young, eager idiot I was then I tried to destroy my 2nd shot from the fairway with my three wood - at that time the green was about 30 yards outside of my range but hey - they didn't know that.

Anyway, I slice it pretty quickly, it hits the trunk of a tree and literally bounces back inbetween my feet. I couldn't do it again if I tried a million times.

Things I Am Good at in Golf

- Hitting it in the drink
- Finding the rough with my drive
- Staying in the bunker- Hitting grassburners all the way to the hole- Three putting- Posting over par on 18 in only 9 holes- Swinging and missing with an iron

Played 8 rounds in 4 days with a pair of golf shoes that were one size too small. By the 7th round I could barely walk, had blisters and callouses pretty much on every toe and all up and down the sides of my feet. Possibly the most pain I've been in starting that 7th round.

    • Day 159 1-19 Flow drill while attempting to add arch in wrist on downswing. Not where it needs to be but felt good working on swing flow.
    • Day 1 (19 Jan 26) - after a week lay-off due to travels, felt great to get in some drills in the backyard today.  Started with lead arm only short pitches focused on squared face and light divot post ball.  Haven’t done this in a while and it showed, with some skulls and slices.  Settled into easy flighted balls - wrapped up with standard two handed swings.  Good restart to the daily drills.
    • That depends what you do within those two.  Are they your only options?   Check out Fit for Golf if you get a moment.  It's linked on the sidebar;  I did it for two years, stopped for a really bad reason, and I plan to get back to it soon.   Mike Carroll also has a great free podcast about a lot of topics in golf fitness.
    • Day 19, 1/19.  Finished work in time to spend 25 minutes hitting balls (hit 15) indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Usual focus.
    • Day 30 - 2026-01-19 Got 10 minutes in on the mat / net working on exagerrating movements I'm working on. And grip. Also worked with my friendly AI to summarize key negative tendencies I have so that I can build a personal checklist to follow. Will do more mirror work tonight.
