Today was an odd round. And before I get into this, I am not complaining at all. I start out by holing in from 105 on hole one for eagle. Then give it right back with a double on 2. Then par the last 7 on the front nine, without hitting one green in regulation.
Back nine starts out birdie birdie birdie. Then double on a par 3. Then another double on a short par 4. Then all pars again and I missed all but one green in regulation. All in all, a 73. The score thrilled me, but the round was terrible. Anybody else have rounds like this recently and what did you do to rebound for tomorrows round?

I shot an 80 (a solid score for me) yesterday after only hitting 3 fairways. Putting and chipping really saved my behind. It's another example of when not all facets (driving, irons, chipping, and putting) of my game being stellar, but one or two makes up for another.

I shot a 94 (about average for me) Friday at one of the toughest courses in town. What made it weird was my game was completely backwards. I was crushing all my drives/fairway woods right down the middle. I hit 70%+ of my drives on the fairway but my short irons really let me down. It was one of those rounds that if I could have played my short irons like I usually do I could have went in the low 80s for my best round yet. Never can pull everything together at once.

I had a round like this today. i just got home and i shot 71 on a par 70. The course layout is like this. par 5, 4, 4, 3, 5, 4, 4, 4, 3
i eagled 1, trippled 2, par on 3 and 4, eagle 5, and par out to shoot 34 on the front.
the back is the same layout

I just shot a 79, but it was really weird.. It was just a normal day, it was a good score, but irons just weren't there.

yea i shot a 79 yesterday as well.

I was really off and just felt out of balance. Missing fairways and felt like i missed almost every green. Fortunately my short game held up. Got up and down on 10 or 11 holes and made some putts outside of 15 feet.

So all in all...seems like even when the shit hits the fan...you can clean everything up with your short game
