I’ve always been partial to the palette of New England in the fall. The combination of colors seems to me sublime. But I was not necessarily a golfer when I lived there. Now I live in Colorado, not sure I’m necessarily a golfer here either – but living at altitude sure helps with driving distance – and I also find that the Rocky Mountains are gilded gold by the Aspen’s senescence. These are just my pseudo-poetic aesthetic sensibilities concerning a good place to play before winter covers the earth in forgetful snow.

1st week in October is the usual color touring time in the northern part of Michigan's mitt; lots of rain can kill it but otherwise it can be perfect temps.

Being a "New Engander" myself I have to say that it really can't get any better than golf in New England in Autumn ... beautiful scenery, beautiful colors, kinda distracts you if you are sooting 90+

Agree... either Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head... its off season and not very crowded.

Or

Weather is good... too bad its the start of the season and rates start to sky rocket.
