the 2008 editions don't release until sep. 5th i believe. i cannot wait for them though! the new 330 and 330S are both 4 piece balls, the 330 for 112+ MPH driver speeds and S for 105-112. I'm going to try out the 330S first and then we'll see how it performs.

I can't wait to try the new B330 RX. My swing speed is just under 105 and I have been wanting a softer compression ball. I guess I will wait and see how it stacks up to the Pro V1 I currently use.

Your obsession with the number of "pieces" in a golf ball is unhealthy. More pieces does not mean "better."

Same here, great idea by Bridgestone.

i like to know that my balls have some substance in them.

And for the last time: the number of pieces has almost

nothing to do with that . The Pro V1 would not be a better ball if it had four pieces instead of three. It has three for a reason - just as the Pro V1x has four for a reason. The TP Black is a three-piece ball, and the TP Red a four-piece ball. And for the heck of it, the Burner TP ball is a three-piece ball too. Every premium level ball on the market has the number of pieces they have because that's what works best for them given their targeted golfer, their technology, etc. More != better, and more != "substance." Your insistence that more = better is, frankly, silly. I don't care what you play with or why, but when you share your baseless opinions with others on my forum, I'm going to refute them every time. You go play your four-piece ball, but stop telling everyone (or at least implying) that "more = better." All of the above being said, and getting back to topic, I think Bridgestone has a good 2008 lineup. I think the RX will be a good ball for a lot of players, and the B330 and B330S are a good combination for better players, right online with the TP Red and TP Black, but historically without quite as much separation as the V1x/V1.

    • Day 27 - 2026-01-16 Played 18 with some of the usual "too many voices" going on when I'm working on swing stuff. Fun to get out in great bay area winter weather.
    • I know one recent college grad who's trying the same thing.  This guy was a Division III All-American, went on to play one year at Division I LSU, and is not working hard.  He won the Gulf States Open, a pro event, and made it to the second stage of the Korn Ferry Tour School late in the fall.  And didn't make the cut to get to the final stage.  I won't talk about swing or play stuff, but I believe there are a couple of things that are essential.  Obviously, talent, and drive, or work ethic.   I can't tell you how to do it, but you HAVE to get through it.  Golf is going to be your life, and it takes lots of work. Two more things that are really critical.  You'll need the facility to be able to practice.  My young friend stayed in Baton Rouge, as a past player on the team he can still use the LSU practice facilities.  And money.  Its unlikely you'll be able to work a full-time job and practice the way you will need to.  You'll probably need backing, from a parent, from a consortium of friends or club members., something to support you. Good luck, its not an easy path, but anything is possible.  Another young man from our area, Mike Brennan, just won for the first time on the "big" PGA Tour.
    • No one in the world is as smart as Phil thinks he is.
    • Get more comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you don’t like practicing then give up now. You don’t have the passion to become a pro. Unless that mentality changes you won’t do well under stressful situations.    Call the PGA Tour and ask. They probably have resources available.
