I've really been impressed with the one in my sig line. I've been playing it since May and it's doing really well.

Excellent room for storage and super club sepparation without being too bulky...only weighs 5.5lbs.

Stand system is flawless and very stable. Easy deployment.

The bag will also stand upright w/o using legs very well, too. My last stand bag lacked this ability...made closet storage more difficult.

Works great as a riding bag.

Works great on my push cart.

Double strap system is super for carrying and you can adjust them in 5 seconds to have a primary strap that goes the "full" length so you can sling it around in the traditional way.

The only downside I've found is the straps are slippery and glide over your shoulder with ease...making single strap carry dicey if your other hands are full. I've seen strap sleeves that you can get that help get good grip.....gotta add one of those.

My father played a round with me and saw the bag and checked it out thouroughly. After the round was over he bought an identical model in the pro-shop. That's about the strongest endorsement I can offer. He doesn't part with $$$ easily but could see the value here.

Good luck. There are many great models out there for ~$100...especially if you have some listed on sale.

'bout $220 not on sale.

http://www.golfsmith.com/products/29...exos_Stand_Bag I'm waiting for them to put those legs and the Hoode on a lighter bag like the Vaporlite. But if I was looking for a cart/carry hybrid bag, that would be the one. EDIT: Of course, if you want something just for the range and you want to go uber-cheap and uber-light (3lbs), Golf Galaxy currently has the Callaway Mini Looper on sale for $50.

Can't go wrong with a Ping Hoofer even though I still don't think they have enough space or good organization for the club grips. Harry I'm right there with you... I don't think anyone has designed the perfect bag yet, but if someone is to do it, it will probably be Ping.

I vote for the Ogio. It's a great carry bag and it works just fine on a cart. My second choice would be the Nike; although I'm not sure I really cared for the divider system it felt great when I tried it on at the store and loaded it with clubs; I could definitely walk with it no problema.

Why not a bag that will work for both?

That looks like an extremely well laid out bag.

I like the wedge tray, zipperless ball pocket and rain hood. Super features.

I stopped off at Golfsmith this evening and looked around a little. I found a Sun Mountain Superlight 3.5 that was marked down from $139 to $99 and I used the 20% off coupon on top of that, so it was ~$80. I'm really pleased.

20% off coupon?

They're having a 20% sale on golf bags. I got my coupon via e-mail, but there's also a code you can use on the website or the location I went to had coupons printed out. There are some restrictions, I don't think it's good on Ping maybe, or something like that.

There was something else on the coupon, 15% off on drivers or something like that. I can post the coupon code if anyone needs it.

I was checking out the new Sun Mountain bags today -- they have a couple stand bags that have 15 slots for clubs (one extra, for good luck) and are light enough @5 lbs. to carry easily, and their strap systems are pretty nice. One of them even has a separate circular slot on the back of the bag for your putter, so no inadvertent harm can come to it. They are $179 or $189 at Golfsmith, and probably priced comparably elsewhere.

The new Nike bags are nice, and priced right at $99.99 but the divider system is a joke -- bag chatter, anyone? Guaranteed to get lots of it unless you put individual headcovers on your irons during play, which is silly.

And if you are just looking for something light and economical and don't really need the latest and greatest, I'm pretty sure there is an Adams golf sale going on nationwide -- something like $69 for their carry/stand bag, which looks okay and surely is lighter than what your son now has.

In my C-130 Cart Bag:

It's the Sun Mountain Four 5.

Damn. I may have to check that one out. Sounds too good to be true: http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...EGORY_ID=11900
Sun Mountain Four 5 Divider Stand Bags feature:10.5", 14-way compressed nylon top Patented Roller Bottom leg mechanism for easy activation E-Z Fit® Dual Strap System for easy on and off maneuvering Top-mounted stand mechanism for increased durability and stability Triangular non-slip foot pads to resist sinking into grass or sliding on slick surfaces Sculpted hip pad improves airflow to golfer's back 8 zippered pockets for your golf accessory storage Mesh score card pouch and pen holder Ball pocket with two-way zippers Velour-lined valuables pocket Full-length clothing pocket Ball liner to precisely mark balls Water bottle pouch Includes matching rainhood Weight: 4.5 lbs

The Golfsmith Description is shorter, but includes "full length dividers"

10.5" oval 14-way top Full length dividers Weighs under five pounds Eight pockets Patented roller bottom leg mechanism Lift assist strap Ball liner Matching rainhood Umbrella holder and towel ring

Sun Mountain usually has good stand systems/legs and good carry straps.

If it is really 4.5 lbs. with 14 way full length dividers and a 10.5 top . . . it may be my next bag. Too bad it couldn't also have the Ogio rain Hoode.

    • Imma throw a dart in the dark as no one can tell what is happening once every fourth iron shot per your OP. This might sound counterintuitive but if ball position is too far back in the stance folks are known to throw down clubhead steeply. Could be happening. And yes, @billchaois not wrong; clubhead tends to bottom out wherever your pressure is. So slide forward (not sway), then hit.
    • Day 300 (!): did a stack session.
    • Day 24: Missed my weekly round due to a last minute little league makeup game this morning. Managed to get in some backswing rehearsals while grilling sausages for dinner, and then putted around the office/laundry room after dinner.
    • but I don't understand how that's possible you still want your head to stay back you don't want the upper body coming forward and plus I've tried feeling that and it made my fat shots worse and I then tend to pull and sky all my shots especially with driver because I get in front of it dont need force plates to see i finish on my left side
