Has anyone noticed its a little slow around the Sandtrap forum the last few days? Any reason? It seems like ever since that night when it was down, the forum has not seen as much action...

Who would have thought that guys like Flop Shot Artist and others that are no longer would bring so much activity?

It's because for a lot of people, golf season is coming near an end. And those who aren't into it are losing interest already.

I know my golf season is almost finished, but I'm not losing interest, as you may notice, I'm not posting on here that much either anymore. But is better than last winter where I entirely disappeared.

Again alot of people are finished so really have nothing to talk about anymore

Actually I have been here 7 weeks, but who is counting. According to board stats, I am not at the top. That belongs to Harry and Dent right now.

Well, technically, you are averaging a higher daily post average than me . . .

The Birdieman - Posts Per Day: 16.20 Harry Longshanks - Posts Per Day: 12.20
and Dent is practically a slacker
Dent - Posts Per Day: 5.00
WAY too much of my life is spent in front of a computer.

That must be for this last week. I pulled it up via google last week while at the office before the trip to CT and you were "winning" for posts for the week. It was during your flirting session with dent and julie...lol

Posts-per-day stats are cumulative, as in... for as long as you've been a member here.

Mine's 7.33. Big whoop. Goes down dramatically in the winter, though, I can tell you that.

To me I really don't think posts per day matters, I mean you could make 25 posts on one day, and then make 0 for the next few days, and It really doesn't tell you anything.

I think looking at the time they have been a member on the forum and their posts really distinguishes someone from the rest

I would think it would be the other way. Since you cant play golf in the winter more time in front of PC, am I wrong? Or do people just distance themselves from golf?

So since I have only been here 7 weeks Im nobody??? Just kidding dent.

I think it's because people don't get on to talk about how they did in their round that day, and obviously won't have any great shots to brag about! You might get on for specific reasons, like to say your wife let you buy a new set for Christmas, or whatever. I think people still get on though, just to keep up with the people we have been bantering with for the last however many months. There's an R/C forum I am on that doesn't completely die out over winter but it slows down by probably half when the guys aren't out running their cars.

I've only been here for not quite 2 months but feel like I'll want to know how people are doing in the cold months around the corner (for some of us). Even though we don't always agree on things (more often than not I am in the minority!) we've all got this one thing that ties us all together and that's what will keep most active members popping in once in a while at least when the clubs get put away. And there's still the Grill Room where we can talk about all things not golf that should stay fairly busy.

Haha I didn't mean it like that, but because you have such a significant ammount of valued posts in the time being, you are considered a somebody.

Wait. People on this forum

I'm not convinced you do. You should consider providing some evidence of that...

I think it's because people don't get on to talk about how they did in their round that day, and obviously won't have any great shots to brag about!

And the PGA Tour isn't playing.

Good point about the PGA, I didnt think about that.

As for Harry playing golf, in between flirting and escaping from Dent's basement, he gets a quick 18 in.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
