Wait a minute...

Friday after the first round, I went to the junk yard and found one of those old bathtubs and hooked it up in my back yard that overlooks the city light at night... I bought a new Lexus after this morning's matches were over, went next door and had my doctor friend sign a script for my Cialis, stopped by the liquor store for the vodka and the pharmacy for some other goodies and started back to the house.

I stopped to help with this nice college girl on the side of the street who looked like she was having problems with one of her shoes (she kept bending over to adjust a buckle)... anyway, she wound up being a vice squad cop.

Needless to say, had to call the wife for the bail money; she came down to pick me up with my older kids. We went straight to an intervention with the family and my pastor and I missed the afternoon matches... frick'in commercials!

Way cool! I thought I was the only one with a bathtub in my backyard!

Unfortunately, under the terms of the intervention, the tub will be one of the first things to go.

I'll renegotiate for a hot tub some day.

two reasons i believe.firstly Ray Floyd's rep. he's known to be arrogant, pompous, and he gets someone to drive him because he's Ray Floyd. Ray would'nt resort to driving himself.

Well, I don't know about the first one, but the second one makes sense. Of course, those facts (about the luxury featues of the LS460L) were unknown to me and likely as well to the most of the rest of the commercial-watching public, which is ever further proof that the ad is ineffective (as if someone needed to point that out!).

Ineffective? Im not so sure...After all, we are talking about it on a golf message board arent we?

Here's something I wrote in the

live blog :

Source: Live Blog 16:36:12: Yep. I must say, over-exposure to a certain commercial has a negative effect on me: I'm now less likely to buy a Lexus.

I'd call that a negative effect or "ineffective" at doing what an ad should do.

And yet now my fiancee wants to trade in her 05 model for the new one after that commercial.

I feel as though most casual viewers dont watch all 10 or so hours of the Ryder Cup. We are the extreme cases. So for most they did not see it like we did. Im not a Lexus person myself, but I think the commercial to an extent works. I cant stand the commercial personally, but people are talking about it.

I purposely woke up a little late and watched from the begining starting about 45 mins late and just FFW through all commercials on both Saturday and Sunday... it was great, didn't watch any commercials (love having a DVR).

secondly, the car he's in,the LS460L has all of the amenities in the back seat. The rear seats recline and have a foot rest, there is a table, a refrigerator, and heated/cooled/massage in the seats. the fun of this car is the back seat.

Holy crap, thank you for that! I've been wondering about that since the U.S. Open. Every time I see that freakin' commercial (approximately 5,000 times per week) it drives me nuts.
