I am wanting to try out new irons (why not?) - from what I have read, these sound pretty good for a high handicapper. Currently I have some R7 draw, but the draw favoring I think is giving me some problems.

Try Pi5's.. They are good, cheap and forgiving.

Last reports I read in Golf Digest & Golfweek stated he's still using PI5s with a CI7 4 iron.

Here's the link . The DIx line is a mid to OS iron that would seem to me to be a little on the big side for the pros. I picked up some DI5s for real cheap on Ebay and haven't warmed up to them one bit, even the long irons. I second the PI5s (if you can find them).

I play the DI7s steel.. I like them.. I just got them 2 months ago. They are easy to hit right away and has a nice feel. I have reduced my handicap a lot since I got them and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

I recently changed to the Ci 7's and I've never had a shorter learning curve. They just felt great and easy to hit. By my 2nd round I was really striking the ball well. Now I have to work on my putting...........

I play the Di7's and I like them. I haven't played any other new irons to compare them too so I really can't say anything about how they compare to other sets out there today. Mine have the UST graphite shafts. One thing to remember/realize about these irons is that Wilson's "D" line signifies distance (C=control, P=players). In actuality that means that these clubs are less lofted than standard irons, so you get more distance from them. They are cavity backs with perimeter weighting, low CG, fat shafts (steel and graphite), so you can expect a fair amount of forgiveness from all those characteristics, but the loft is something you'll notice right away. You'll probably find you hit these about one club more than you're used to, but once you get your distasnces dialed in you'll be good to go.

I just ordered a set of Di7 irons. I read some positive reviews on them, and the price seemed pretty good (around $200).

    • Day 23: weird day, and only had a little bit of time. Just did mirror work again, working on where the elbow is in the downswing
    • I flipped over to this tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. Anyone else watch? I picked it up during the golf relay event, but seeing these pros out having fun in alternative events was refreshing and entertaining. I’m sure it will be on in reruns in the next week or so, so I won’t spoil the outcome. Im curious what others thought of it. I’m recording it’s later airing to see the beginning.
    • Day 443 - 2025-12-17 Made a few swings in testing some things out at another academy. Might pop up on someone else's podcast in a few weeks.
    • Day 37 (17 Dec 25) - nine hole round with my good friend.  We got paired up with a couple of the men’s group regulars as part of their shootout.  Started off with a wonderful quad bogie and then a dbl on three to be six over thru three holes.  Game went 180° over the next five as I shot one under (including a chip in birdie on hole six and four up and down 1 putt pars) for a net finish of five over. What could have been a really tough nine became a solid finish due to staying in the moment and not checking out.  Great day in course management and keeping perspective .
    • Day 127 12-17 Backswing and flow practice. Took advantage of the 60 degeee weather(it was 20 degrees Sunday)
