Running a craps table at a bachelor party....

Ok, I am helping with my brother in-laws bachelor party this weekend and I am in charge of running the craps table. I'm at a bit of a loss, since I don't have a strong grasp of the game.

I know that if you open with a 7 thats a natural, sometimes though I hear an 11 plays the same. If you hit a 7 later in the game, you lose your roll. 2 is a dead hand on an open, and 4,5,6,8,9,10,12 play as points. If the shooter hits his point he wins.

I also know about with and against money, and that it has to be equal in order to roll. However I'm sure there is a decent amount or at least a few fine details I'm missing. For example, at previous bachelor parties I've been to certain numbers went to the house. I think it was 12's and 9's if I'm not mistaken.

Can anybody shed some light on this for me.

You wouldn't possibly be able to learn all of the in-outs of craps before this weekend so you'll want to run a simple version of the game. Plus, I assume this is to raise money for the groom? Then you'll want the game to better favor the house, like they would do at a church fund raiser.

This is what I did for a American Cancer Society fund raiser:

Keep it simple, forget the odds bets (player's only advantage), dark side bets (don't pass line), the come bets (point numbers other than the current point) and odds are 1 for 1 everywhere, that will generate more money for the house/groom and you won't go crazy trying to remember the odds:

First roll is the come out roll:
7 & 11 pays the pass line bets, 2, 3, 12 (craps) house wins, all others establish the point. Field bets are off during the come-out roll.

Subsequent rolls: if the point is rolled, pay the pass line bets, house wins all bets on a 7, pushes on 2,3,11,12s for pass line bets but pay on any field bets. Remember that field bets are good for only one roll, so pick them up between rolls if they are not winners; pass line bets stay until a 7 is rolled.

Well I've been to a lot of bachelor parties and its been run slightly different. It was very "street craps" style. It was a matter of with and against the shooter money being even before the come out roll. IF he crapped out the agains tmoney won, if the shooter hit then the with money did it. The thing is as people get winning we have the barrel right there taking donations and such.

I'm jut trying to figure what to do with the numbers the house sweeps. Normally there are two numbers that are posted up, and if rolled the house takes them.

I'm thinking that may complicate it for the drunk's.

I think I'm gonna play the simple with/against the shooter. 7 is a natural on the opening bet 7 loses after the opening roll 2 loses after the opening roll 3,4,5,6,8,10,12 (but, if a 12 is rolled all bets are raked for the groom)

11 has to pay on the first roll too. Thats one of the big parts of craps. Ice Cube even put that in one of his songs.

Or forget the "craps" and do a simple over-under 7 (house wins on 7). Keeps it down to a one roll game.
