As those in my region may have noticed, they seem to be running a membership promotion of some sort and are advertising fairly regularly on TGC. Let's say they've piqued my curiosity. Anyone have any thoughts about the quality of the course, the membership, or the value of the club? I'd have to hoof it out there from NW DC, which would be a bit of a pain. So yeah, I'd love to join Chevy Chase CC, but let's just say the entry fee is a bit steep!

from the looks of the pictures the courses look pretty decent. at least from the one pic on Tantallon that is

i've been looking to join a club for awhile, seems like a good investment. good luck with your pick

      Day 51 (yesterday was 50, not 59 -- that was a typo).  I didn't have a ton of time today.  I hit a dozen balls with a 6-iron in my practice room.   Amazingly, after this I did the ShotScope analysis of yesterday's round;  my approach play was at the 5 hcp level.  That's pretty darn good, but unfortunately for my score, some of that came from hitting a few good recovery shots.  But I also hit some really good approach shots that weren't from trouble!

      Shot a 37 today! Palmer Course, PGA National. Really fun. 6/9 GIR, no lost balls. The double and the bogey were both three putts from like 35 feet or so.  The birdie at the last was really fun. I stood over that fifteen footer and thought wow I’m really about to make this, aren’t I? And I hearted it. Really fun. It’s like 9000 degrees outside but I battled through it well. Good times.

      I had been in a bit of a slump for the month of June. Handicap index has slowly risen, and there were few sub-80 scores. Today was a different story at Leslie Park GC. Lots of solid shots, GIR's, up & downs, for a 77 (7.8 differential). As with most rounds, there were a few loose shots and crappy putts, but it was a good day.
