Since we were playing "Who's wearing Blingo" for a while in this thread, I thought it would be pertinent to mention that Charlotte has updated her Blingo website with a link to a list of players wearing Blingo:

http://www.blingoballmarks.com/Whos_wearing_Blingo.html

Interestingly, or perhaps not so interestingly, the list does not include Amber Prange, who clearly is wearing one in at least a couple episodes of BB-X. It does list her sister, however, as well as Andrea and Camila of BB-X.

I think that bell is the sound notifying me that the level of my golf-obsession has just reached a new high score.

Just bought a ton for Xmas gifts for golfer friends. I wonder if I should send their pics to BQ :)

Okay...so were you as confused over the first set of challenges as I was? I couldn't figure out how they got into a playoff so fast. Amber and Robbie had 1 point going into the 2nd challenge. Haymes/Bernie & Hugo/Camila both got that challenge in 2. And suddenly we're in a challenge? Did I miss something?

Oh well...thank goodness I was able to ask Michael after the show what was going on. He filled in a few holes and gave some behind the scenes insights that brought a little light to the confusion.

Tomorrow...Amber, Haymes, Sally and David interviews will be added.

It was a skins game basically. The tie carried over the points to the next hole.

Horrible decisions by Haymes and Bernie. If Haymes hits a driver, the only way it is ever the shot that counts is if he hits a horrible shot. Then they compounded that poor decision by having Bernie hit driver also. After he hit his shot where he did, the only way it wasn't being chosen was if she hit an even worse shot. She should have just pulled out a five iron or something.

Glad to see Hugo and Camila advance. They've easily been the best couple the whole season.

Okay...I get the carry over. But it's still confusing to me...

Let's start from the beginning... Robbie and Amber win the first challenge and get a point. In Challenge 2, B/H and C/H tie, so their points go to the 3rd challenge. The 3rd challenge is now worth 5 instead of 3 because of the carry over. Okay...I get that. But don't forget A&R; have 1 from the first challenge (is that irrelevant now?). So now we have 3 teams playing for 5 points. R&A; made it in 1. C&H; made it in 1. And now Stina calls it a playoff on TV. What? H&B; hadn't even played the location yet. So is this a timing issue? Once Haymes and Bernie make it in 3, they are out of it, right? Then it's down to a playoff...A/R & C/H playoff. I think I was confused about Stina calling a playoff before Haymes and Bernie had even hit a first shot on the 3rd location. After listening to Michael and the number of times they had to play that hole, it makes more sense to me that the call for a playoff may not have been as clear as it could be in terms of timing. OR am I still missing something and should go back to my wine ;)

I guess the Skins Game aspect means once two tie, everyone ties. It wasn't a case of being eliminated since you had the highest score. Another team could bail you out. Then play continues until one team alone has the best score.

Amber and Robby had the 1 point but that was easily trumped by the carryover pot that eventually went to Hugo and Camila, identical to an actual Skins Game. I believe there was a quick related comment by Haymes after the first challenge, that it was "only one point."

This episode I was struck by two aspects: The circle challenge golf was strangely much more impressive than the standard golf with some terrible tee shots and poor strategy, already detailed by Jeremy517, and the confessional facial expressions didn't give anything away, but the Golf Channel clips were ridiculously too revealing. Those clips showed Robby obviously leaving a ball in the bunker so I waited for that to happen at a critical juncture. They showed Haymes bouncing one off the cart path and into the muck. Probably worst of all was the clip with Haymes obviously not on the green and saying, "we've got to sink these." I threw my hands up in the air at that one. Golf Channel had already described and demonstrated the format, worst score counts, so the phrase "sink these" heading into a commercial meant Haymes and Bernie were stuck in a predicament needing to sink two shots from off the green. That's supposed to be suspenseful?

That circle early in the show was much smaller than typical and the challenges didn't seem particularly easy. It was great credit to the caliber of these teams that they were consistently succeeding within 2 or 3 shots. In general, the bunker play in this series has been very good. Even David the long driver had impressive technique out of the greenside bunkers.

Oh yeah, one other thing: I loved Robby's subtle comment when Haymes told him to pick up his ball about 12 feet from the hole, that they would have to play Amber's shot from in front of the green: "Are you sure?"

It might be bad to say, and I might be the minor here but I don't want H/C to win it all. They have made me read my tv insted of watching it. Shallow? more than likely. I will say I wouldn't be suprised though if they did win. Their team play is fantastic

I swear, from the "after action" interviews, I thought Bernie had been crying, so I expected them to lose, then bam, Robbie and Amber crash and burn. They had a lot of bad mojo between them. If I had to pick, I'd bet on Hugo and Cami to win..... jmoc

This is possibly some of the saddest golf I've seen on Big Break. I know nerves factor in but I've seen very few "GOOD" shots.

New idea: Big Break - Father/Son...both must be scratch golfers

They had been pretty mentally tough throughout most of this thing.... then it seems they just kind of broke down and let frustration and emotion get to them.

Same with me. Bernie appeared noticeably different in the confessional, with the hair back and plenty of color in her face. The other 3 looked identical to all season. For half the program I thought that meant Robby and Amber had pulled it out, but I also took note of Haymes' little grin.

Weak shots from all 4 players but I enjoyed this episode due to the uncertainty and changes of momentum. Robby and Amber deserve some type of poker player prize for failing to give away their fate in the confessional, particularly after so much second guessing and frustration on the course. Bernie has a nice swing but her miss is left. That's more and more apparent, over the top, particularly with the longer clubs. Her hands are set a bit further away from her body than typical for a pro.

Lots of ups and downs for sure. I loved the poker faces - I really thought from Bernie's face that they had lost. Haymes' shot out of the woods was so great - love a good scramble!

I was lucky to talk to Amber tonight. She was feeling pretty bad and that last bunker shot didn't help (although it was pretty irrelevant in the scheme of things). But I think she'll be okay - she'll make it someday - she's so young and she has talent. And hey...look what BB'er Jeanne Cho-Hunicke did on the weekend - never give up - never surrender!

Robbie had a bad day. I thought Amber competed very well. It all comes down to whether Haymes can have a good day next week. Bernie has not been spectacular but is pretty solid.

    • Day 238: played 18. Back 9 was pretty good after a rough front 9. Then worked a bit after the round at the range, just firming up some feels.
    • Day 6 (15 Mar 25) - Played in local course’s 2man captain’s choice St Patrick’s Day tournament.  Great day of working closely with my teammate on course management process.
    • Certainly BUY used so many near new Drivers in Good condition that will suit ...which IMHO the shaft is the most important part if you want to buy new get a shaft new that suits you then find the head you like the feel off
    • I found being part of a Great Golf Club renewed my love for the game and comps ..previously at my other club I was just a player with novice player mates or solo .and that was hard to progress and drive the passion when my job was very restrictive to playing in good weather and friends couldn't play as much...  that become a grind at times and gave up the game for couple years..but now work for myself and have clear goals and new GC with serious players ongoing comps and great course I can pretty much always get on .. some great Golfing friends I made playing in the weekly comps ..I'm loving it..  Still get down on my game and can walk off gutted ..but thats the game we wouldn't love the good round if we never had bad rounds So for me maybe dropping the pressure of the HC grind and more so enjoy playing comps with others serious on the game ...understand the game is hard ,enjoy the good times and your game will develop ...
    • Big week of Golf nursing golfing elbow ....played local amazing course Arrowtown tuesday ..had a tidy 81 for what I felt wasn't my best Golf in some wet windy conditions found the greens tough to read and gave away many shots... three birdies Played my local GC wed STB mens comp... very rough whole game not happy 89 just felt tired made so many mistakes max 4-holes I played well the rest rubbish to woeful ... Friday played south of my local Alexandra in a 4ball with my mates (we have a comp same partners over the year) played pretty well after not even hitting my 3wood past the ladies tee on the 1st hole ...very slow greens to what I usually played so we made gimmes within 2ft ,,,, couple birdies .. Wasn't going play ..but wife wasn't stressed so joined into the SAT Medal comp ..teed off early .. had some brilliant holes and shots some of my best .. birdied 3x ..78 for the day gave me a 7th in SNR division. putting let me down had a 4x putt on 3rd hole PAR3 ... along with 6+ three putts ... what could have been  Now looking over the above I'm sure many thinking go sort ya putting ya idot .. but couple weeks previously I played three comps .. out of those three I only had one 3x putt my best 24 putts over a round  ... but my driver off the tee was rubbish ..
