I was happy either way the outcome would of been, I was surpised with it though.

I was disappointed but not surprised. Applying the Golfgal system based on Ka'anapali you had to think Haymes and Bernie would be the winners. Sophie the European was never heard from in Gayle's interviews and lost the finale. Kim Welch had participated in many weekly interviews. Here you had the same thing, the foreign entry totally absent from Golfgal's site while Haymes was a fixture. If I know I win the thing, I'm upbeat about it and want the accompanying publicity along the way.

Besides, Bernie quietly showed up at the Duramed Q School in November, an indication she wanted to get her game in shape. The gap between filming Big Break Michigan and the LPGA exemption is 15 months, July 2008 through October 2009. Anyway, this definitely had enough for a 2 hour finale. I think Hugo opened with 3 consecutive birdies, topped by Haymes' four. Hugo's face was in confessionals was the instant giveaway.

See the teaser for the next BB, looks like they took away the PGA/LPGA event and they'll just get 100k, "just"

looks interesting... too bad it's so far away

Oh dear, I better start interviewing everyone! Please don't think I know what's going on. I connected first with Andrea because she was friends with other ladies I'd interviewed in past shows. I had no idea that she would leave the show so early. I really wanted to interview Haymes because of his brother. I am happy he said yes and even happier now that I picked a winner :) but seriously, I really don't know what's going to happen.

But tonight when I saw the interviews on TV and how Camila was cut out and we only saw Hugo for the first part of the interviews, I figured they were out. I expect her face was a give-away they didn't want to show. It must be hard to keep it secret to the last 5 minutes. I think GC did a really good job, but I too wished I could have watched this over two days instead of skipping shots. Well, Michael's interview was tonight and it was sad to say goodbye to him, but I'll keep in touch with him and his teams and see how they perform next year. And he's agreed to be interviewed for BB PEI, which should be fun. I see they are 6 men/6 ladies again. I guess GC likes mixing it up. tomorrow...it's Andrea, Sally, David and of course, the man (daddy) of the hour, Haymes. It will be pretty cool to watch him play with his brother next year.

NOOO hugo and camila are gona lose :(

I wanted Camila and Hugo to win so bad!!!! Camila is sooooo hot! I was sad for her crying at the end. Bernie and Haymes don't have an audition video??? I wonder if they handpicked this team? Seems kinda sketchy if you ask me.

Camila definitely didn't bring her "A" game. Some of those putts and chips she ran way by was the key to them losing I think. That one putt on (was it 15 or 16) made by Bernie was huge. Camila and Hugo pissed that one away. I agree about skipping the holes. What the hell? It made the ending so anti-climatic.

I think Haymes said it well in

his interview with me today. The mental side of the game was his and Bernie's strength. I think maybe Camila's youth and inexperience is what caused her to lose it a bit. She sure has the talent though and with time and hard work, she'll make it - so will Hugo. They really are great golfers and, from what I've heard, really really nice people.

Good for Haymes and Bernie. I was rooting for them all the way. I was sooo happy when Amber hit her bunker into the water on the last hole in the semi's. I don't really see Haymes doing good in the Tournament. Yet I see Bernie doing great. All in all:

Best Male - Hugo
Worst Male - James
Best Female - Toss-up between Bernie and Andrea (it's too bad her partner was James)
Worst Female - Sally or Amber

I whiffed my previous comment. I wasn't suggesting you know anything about the outcome.

But if I know I'm the winner I find a way to cycle myself into the interview lineup, no matter who has to provide contact info or what hours it necessitates, regardless if I'm in France or Chile or wherever. I was rooting for Hugo and Camila throughout but I was always doubtful they would prevail since they were not showing up in your interview group. I think I mentioned something along those lines on the other forum several weeks ago, that the non-North American entries were again absent from Golfgal interviews. That was a hint of what I was thinking regarding the final outcome and Hugo/Camila likely not the winner, but I didn't want to blurt it out, kind of like the forum poster who withheld the picture of Kim Welch's bag with the Adams irons. Anyway, regarding Big Break Prince Edward Island, regardless of who you interview I hope they have top notch memories. As far as I can tell that's a much greater gap from filming to Golf Channel debut than typical. Ka'anapali was about 4 months until airing, same thing with Highway 18, and Michigan was closer to 3 months.

I really wish that Hugo and Camila would have won. They are both playing the mini tours and are trying to make it. Haymes and Bernie both have jobs and are working full time. I see Haymes doing awful in the PGA Tour event. I see Bernie doing better but not great. The scores she shot in 2005 and 2006 wouldn't hold up at todays LPGA Final Stage of Qualifying School. This year at qschool 4 under got their full card. And even par got conditional status. I think the 5k they get for qschool is a waste for both of them. Plus Bernie taking a few years off isn't going to help her game at all. Bernie only made 4 cuts in 20 starts and averaged 75.00 in 2005. She doesn't have the game to get to the LPGA. I hope she doesn't quit her day job. She has a nice swing, but that's it.

I agree, and I really wanted Hugo and Camilla to win. They were the best couple by far through the majority of the competition, they just made a couple of mistakes right at the very end. I don't think either Haymes or Bernie has much of a future on the pro tours, while I think Huge definitely does, and the LPGA could use a face like Camilla's (and by that I mean, an extremely attractive younger female who would draw some attention). Yeah, some may say that isn't important, but look what Anna Kournikova did for Tennis. Besides, I think Camilla played with a lot more skill than Bernie did for nearly the whole thing. Like some have said, it was just youth that caused her to make those mistakes at the end. Bernie has had a chance on the LPGA before, Camilla really deserves one, IMHO.

Sally Dee made it to the semifinals of the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship in Mesquite.

Hope it's okay to bring up this topic here. Didn't know where else to put it. I just finished up a post I did after interviewing Sally Dee today. She had a few things to say about the winner, Lana Lawless - a woman who used to be a 245 lb male police officer in California. Check out what she had to say and then let me know what you think about this issue. And please be polite (there are ladies present :)). Golfgal

Didn't listen to Sally's interview, but I have a hard time understanding why Lana should be permitted to compete with the women in something like long drive, where the geometry and weight distribution of the frame is such an important factor. No one's saying Lana can't do what she wants in terms of her sexual identity, mind you, just that she shouldn't be permitted to flaunt her advantage in a professional athletic contest with $100K on the line when it can be so readily skewed in her favor.

I would think you can bring it up, but why drag a 28 page thread along with it? Maybe you can spin this off and start a new one.

Not born a woman, then you aren't a woman and shouldn't be allowed to be engineered to compete as one, this isn't tennis!

    • Day 238: played 18. Back 9 was pretty good after a rough front 9. Then worked a bit after the round at the range, just firming up some feels.
    • Day 6 (15 Mar 25) - Played in local course’s 2man captain’s choice St Patrick’s Day tournament.  Great day of working closely with my teammate on course management process.
    • Certainly BUY used so many near new Drivers in Good condition that will suit ...which IMHO the shaft is the most important part if you want to buy new get a shaft new that suits you then find the head you like the feel off
    • I found being part of a Great Golf Club renewed my love for the game and comps ..previously at my other club I was just a player with novice player mates or solo .and that was hard to progress and drive the passion when my job was very restrictive to playing in good weather and friends couldn't play as much...  that become a grind at times and gave up the game for couple years..but now work for myself and have clear goals and new GC with serious players ongoing comps and great course I can pretty much always get on .. some great Golfing friends I made playing in the weekly comps ..I'm loving it..  Still get down on my game and can walk off gutted ..but thats the game we wouldn't love the good round if we never had bad rounds So for me maybe dropping the pressure of the HC grind and more so enjoy playing comps with others serious on the game ...understand the game is hard ,enjoy the good times and your game will develop ...
    • Big week of Golf nursing golfing elbow ....played local amazing course Arrowtown tuesday ..had a tidy 81 for what I felt wasn't my best Golf in some wet windy conditions found the greens tough to read and gave away many shots... three birdies Played my local GC wed STB mens comp... very rough whole game not happy 89 just felt tired made so many mistakes max 4-holes I played well the rest rubbish to woeful ... Friday played south of my local Alexandra in a 4ball with my mates (we have a comp same partners over the year) played pretty well after not even hitting my 3wood past the ladies tee on the 1st hole ...very slow greens to what I usually played so we made gimmes within 2ft ,,,, couple birdies .. Wasn't going play ..but wife wasn't stressed so joined into the SAT Medal comp ..teed off early .. had some brilliant holes and shots some of my best .. birdied 3x ..78 for the day gave me a 7th in SNR division. putting let me down had a 4x putt on 3rd hole PAR3 ... along with 6+ three putts ... what could have been  Now looking over the above I'm sure many thinking go sort ya putting ya idot .. but couple weeks previously I played three comps .. out of those three I only had one 3x putt my best 24 putts over a round  ... but my driver off the tee was rubbish ..
