Experiences w/ Fujikura Rombax 6X07

I frequent my local range often and have gotten to know, well at least recognize the regulars. One of the regulars, whom I've never spoken too, has a decent game but the long game has always kept him back. He has an average swing speed (I would estimate 102-105), and a fairly smooth tempo.

Tonight he was a completely different beast... I noticed he had a shiny yellow shaft and eventually I saw some of the graphics and realized it was a Fujikura Rombax 6X07. Now, I know this is an ultra exotic shaft but does anyone have any experience with this shaft... specifically I'm curious what kind of upcharge Titleist would charge for the shaft.

I do not have personal experience with playing that shaft in any of my drivers, but i have hit other peoples drivers who use this shaft. I really like the feel in it and it is slightly lighter than other shafts, available in 63g-68g. It could have been that this guy you saw on the range had a heavier shaft before and when he made the switch, his clubhead speed increased due to a lighter weight. This shaft also has a torque rating similar to the proforce v2 highlanch shaft which created a little bit of whippiness when i had that shaft. Some people love that extra little whip at the top and it can also help with distance a little bit as far as I know. As far as upcharge from titleist, I don't know. obviously it would be a bit more but if you really like that shaft and you play constantly then it is money well spent. hope that helps

I just order a 909 D3 with the Rombax 7Z08 shaft. I was told the upcharge for the shaft was $150. It is a low launch, low spin shaft.

      Day 27 (4 Apr 26) - Worked with grandson on basic pitches/punches in the back yard with varied irons/wedges.  Wrapped up the day rolling some putts on the 30’ carpet I can set up in the yard to give varied terrain - and this carpet rolls almost too easy. A great way to figure a read and know that pace has to be near perfect to get in the hole.

      A bit of a struggle today.  Just some thoughts/musings.  For the backswing, it is like I am never going to be moving on from this. I don't know if I can ever get to the point where the backswing isn't like over 1.5 seconds in duration. Which is probably not ideal. I would like to get to the point where I can just fling the arms back and up.  I have to feel like my hands are going to hit my right thigh from P1 to P2. If not then they like to move 2-5 inches towards the ball from P1 to P2. Then it's just bad from there. This feeling is my hands not gaining much depth, just maintaining depth from set up. From the DTL view, the hands head towards the camera.  While I am doing that, hinge the crap out of the club with my wrist only. Hinge in a way that the club is pointing at the camera at P2.  From P2, lift the hands straight up. I can get here, and still roll the club inside and get it way too shallow.  With the downswing. There isn't much here. I still can't get the flow of this or the sequencing of this to line up. It doesn't help that hinging from P1 to P2 just throws off my entire timing as well.

      Day 550 - 2026-04-04 Practiced in the sim at a club for awhile. Did a SW ladder and practiced for awhile with my 7I.
