odyssey black series vs black series i

Anyone use these putters or try them out? I've really been considering picking up the black series i with the insert in it but I fear the lack of long distance control with an insert. I heard that the insert was pretty firm since it's a tour insert but I want to know if I should just get the milled version. Currently I'm using a cheap milled putter but the feel of it is amazing. My problem with it is that the face is too narrow so when you hit the slightest bit off center, it wants to twist. I do love the feel of inserts but I'm afraid of that loss in speed control. Let me know your experiences and what you guys think. Thanks!

I've used a black series I #9. Overall it was a great putter, the insert was soft put I still felt like I was in control over speed distance though not so as much on the 20 foot+ putts. Having said that I ended up with the SC in my signature. I liked the shape and weight of the putter coming from a YES! Sophia, however I just didn't want to take the time to adjust tot he insert (I'm sure I could have) and went with a milled putter. Putters are such a personal thing though so I would still try it out.

i too play the black series #9. to date, its the best putter i've used because its easy to line up short putts. I'm also considering a SC Newport II as back up.

I have the first model of Black Series(metal insert) and I love it. The distance control with it is not an issue. And if you're hitting the ball pure it feels so sweet.
