I like my driver and all, but at the same time I don't like it. It has that annoying "clank" to it, and it just doesn't seem to jump off of my driver anymore (not that it ever did). The only time it ever felt good was 15 minutes after I purchased it. I went to the range and started bombing balls with it. Ever since then it's gone down the tube.

That being said I'm trying to convince my best friend to trade his Burner ('07 model) with me. I love that thing. I smash it off of the tee, and it feels so nice. Hopefully I'll get him to trade since it seems like he likes my driver too.

Any opinions?

I like both drivers a lot, I would pick the burner though. The burner seems less workable though.

Yeah when I hit my Sumo I'll hit it somewhat straight but it just dies. When I hit the Burner it fades slightly but it goes.

well fyi, if you have any cash, you can get a brand new tour burner with a v2 shaft on ebay for 200 bucks. thats a deal considering its a great driver with an amazing aftermarket shaft.

Have you thought of selling your current driver, then finding a used 07 burner, I'm sure with the money you would make from selling your driver. It would be close to the price of an used 07 burner.

07 burners are amazing clubs I wa absoulutley crushing mine yesterday if your friend is smart he will not trade with you, but I would suggest just selling your driver and getting a used burner you will be down like 20 to 40$ though. The thing about nike drivers is that after a season their prices drop so much, they are going for like $60 in ebay.

Just a word of advice. The burner has a huge closed face. If you start to fix your swing flaws, you will be left all day. I wouldn't buy a TM driver again, G10 is my bet.

It looks like he wants to, but the other kid (the kid with the r7) I'm trying to convince him to trade and maybe give him my T.P. Mills putter (since it's a great putter, and he needs a good putter).

Trust me I have had both drivers you are talking about the burner is atleast 10 to 15 yardslonger than the r7 I think it is worth the slight loss of workability, some people say that the burner has too much of a closed face (true) but with a neutral swing you should only get like 4to 5 yards of draw with the burner.

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
