I'm looking at get a hitting mat to put match with my hitting net. I've found this one on eBay that looks pretty interesting. The guy has great feedback. I like how you can use your own tees. Any opinions on the mat?

Thanks

Two things raise a red flag. One, it is called a "Chipping and Driving Mat". They are not intended for full iron shots if you plan on that. They are for chipping (light iron contact) and driving (no club contact) only. Second, notice that they don't show the padding portion of the mat in any pictures. That's because it's about 1/4" thick if that. I destroyed a mat similar to this in about a week hitting irons.

My advice would be to look elsewhere. If you want a sturdy mat that will last a long time, go here: http://sportnetting.com/products/mats.html They even have ones that hold a tee if you want to go that route. Put $57 on top of the outrageous price that guy is charging and you can get a 4'x5' mat from Sport Netting that will outlast your net.

doesnt look like it will support full iron shots

I have high ceilings in my apartment. I wanted a mat to hit Short Flyte foam balls. I got one that would hold regular tees, but, it was so thick that I had to go down to practically the metal when swinging. I went with a Wilson mat from Dicks Sports. I haven't been happy because it doesn't seem to properly pad the club even though they originally recommended it off of concrete, now they say they don't recommend it. It is a Chip and Drive mat.
I have asked if they recommend this mat.
