I'm looking for an upgrade in irons (I have been for months) but I'm really liking the MX23s, and the MP30s. Now I know they couldn't be more different but I don't know which one would be good for me. I'm not really a long hitter (7i=150 yards), but its not like I hit a lot of (or for the most part, any) miss-hits. Could you guys help me out on what irons I should get.

well if your not a long hitter go with the 25's they are more forgiving.

In my vaporlite carry bag

IRONS mp-57 4-pw with project x 6.5 shaftsPUTTER: Rossa Classic AGSI+ Monte Carlo WEDGES vokey spin milled oil can 52.08, 58.12Niblick 42*

I think your mishitting the ball a bit more than you would think, if you hit a pure shot, the ball will go pretty far, and judging as you play stiff shafts, i would assume you swing around 90-100 MPH, much like me, but my 7 iron goes more 180, and im not a long player..

That being said it depends, i like knowing when i hit bad shots, and i like (no matter how crazy it sounds) to be punished for a bad swing. If i hit one way on the toe, the ball doesnt go very far with my 60's, and i like that. So if you want to get better, i would suggest the 30's, my friend plays them and they are very similar to my 60's i would say.

If you wanna just enjoy the game, shoot for te '25's.

Any reason your fixed on Mizzy?

Try hitting both at the golf store and see what you like, I had the mp30s but the shaft where rifle 5.5 and a bit heavy for me, be careful with the shaft selection on both clubs.

Well I've read a lot of stuff saying that Mizuno was the best iron brand. I don't really like Titleist, since they really don't have any more forgiving irons. I just said "Mizuno" but I'm pretty open for discussion.

Bogey,

Both of the Mizuno's on your list have the same loft specs. I doubt that you would be losing any distance between the two. You also mentioned that Titleist does not make forgiving irons. Have you tried the 690CBs? They play similar and have a similar feel to the MP30s. I would check both, out.
