Since no one else replied I'll throw this out. Go to www.bngc.net and under the "Golf Course" menu and submenu "Course Tour" click on each hole to get a short hint on that hole. I think the same info is in the players guide you can get at the pro shop.

Other than that I hope you can play with someone who is familiar with the course. If not then my advice is look at the slopes and try to favor missing towards them as much as possible when they will help your shot bound back into play. For example on 1 and 13, your approach shots can be insanely wide right and usually end up OK but a little left usually ends badly. Same on 15 except favor the left on the approach, etc. You can hit some really bad shots at BNGC and still do OK if you hit them in a more or less "safe" direction.

When you go to BNGC look into their twilight rates as they have some good deals. As an additional bonus I usually get paired with members or regulars in the afternoon and they have provided a lot of insight into getting around the course. There are a couple of holes on the back with long green to tee hikes but other than that I always walk and enjoy doing so (a good number of the people I meet in the afternoon are walking too).

I've never met anyone who didn't like BNGC. Cyprian seem to be highly polarizing though, people tend to either love it or ardently hate it. Cyprian doesn't have great twilight rates but the Spring for sure is the time to play there. Avoid playing after they have aerated the greens as they don't top dress to fill in the punch marks but let them grow in naturally. And it's the same thing, if you play in the afternoon you'll likely run into members and regulars walking. Even more so than at BNGC, local knowledge is helpful in understanding how to effectively get around the course as both have lots of elevation changes with interesting things going on.

Thank you for the very helpful advice.

    • Day 242 4-19 correct hip/chest movement in backswing. Less hip turn more chest turn. Did a bit of wrist arch stuff as well.
    • Day 42 (19 Apr 26) - Spent a bit of time working on maxing torso rotation…hit a few pitches to help reinforce.
    • Thanks - that was a total surprise…

    • First round at Quail Ridge: 47 + 47 = 94 *Note: It was 25+ mph winds with gust in the 35+ mph. It was also around 58 degrees. I felt like I was out in Oregon. The greens were very firm.  Driver was decent. It didn't cause me an issues.  Irons were the biggest issue. Just low point control was lacking. Mostly on the chunky side. Also, my irons were routinely 20-30 yards shorter than normal. Even on holes with a cross wind, the ball was just dying. We played an extra 9 holes after the first 18, and the wind died down by then. I stepped into a 9 iron, and it came up 15 yards short. I have no clue what is going on. I should not be hitting 9 irons 140 yards when I am hitting my driver 300 to 310 yards.  Warmup didn't give me much confidence. I just kept shanking every other iron shot. I didn't shank an iron during the round. I just felt all out of sorts today. Coordinate felt off.  yea, I have no idea if I am purposely slowing down my swing to feel my downswing piece. Again, I hit a decent 9 iron and lost 15 yards of carry. I hope this is just an off day.
