The difference between the various Vokey wedge?

So I'm looking at adding a Vokey to the bag but which one. I'm somewhat limited by what www.tgw.com have as (according to a thread I found here) they allow my parents back home (UK) to get it for me (Xmas gift) and pay for it, then get it delivered to my US address, saving me hauling it back on the plane.

Besides loft (I'm going for a 60*) and bounce (which doesn't seem to make s huge difference) is it just a difference in the finish?

I rather like the oil cans from an aesthetic perspective but am not sure whether they require a lot of TLC. I've got some gun oil I use after each round to prevent rust on my Scotty Cameron and that's fine with me...

Well playability-wise bounce does make a big difference. If you are a 'sweeper' or 'picker' of the ball and dont take big divots, then you'll want to go with the 60.04 with 4 degrees of bounce. This is what I use and despite its low bounce it works well out of bunkers for me. If you are more of a digger you'll want something with more bounce. The vokey website should do a good job explaining all of the options. As far as finish goes, I'm not sure about how much love you have to give the oil can but i do know that its designed to wear over time naturally. If you prefer to have your clubs looking as new as they can for as long as they can, you may want to go with the tour chrome or black nickel.

But for some reason the 60.04 from the old Vokey line plays a little better out of the rough than one might expect. I'm definately a digger, but this club still works for me. I think it has to do with the sole depth which actually increases the "effective" bounce. So although the bounce is very important in a wedge, in this particular wedge (Vokey SM60) I don't think you will see a great deal of difference. Be prepared to carry the ball all the way to the hole! This wedge bites when new.

My Vokey wedge has the "oil can" finish and I haven't done anything special to protect it's finish besides keeping it clean and dry. I wipe it down like I do all my clubs with my bag towel and so far besides the finish itself wearing away on the sole and face of the club it looks like it did when I bought it a couple of months ago.

I wish now though that I had bought the chrome finish instead of the oil can. Titleist says that the oil can finish groves actually wear down faster than the chromed ones because there is no protective finish/covering over the raw steel (stainless is very soft as far as metals go). While I'm not overly worried about groove wear on the club it is easy to see that the club face itself takes more of a beating from regular play versus a club with a chrome finish.

As to bounce I got my LW with the low bounce option because my SW has a lot of bounce. so what I do is if the shot calls for a lot of bounce (soft sand, thick grass, etc.) I use my SW but if low bounce is called for (hard, packed, or wet sand, tight lie, etc.) I go with the LW. For me having my two highest lofted wedges with opposit bounces adds more options in my bag.

well, in my experience, the low bounce is only really better if you are hitting off of hard pan. the high bounce works well for most people despite what kind of swing you have. i am a digger, and i play high bounce, but my brother is a sweeper, and he also plays high bounce. i would go to the store, and see which ever one feels most comfortable for you

Actually, I did the very same thing for the very same reasons.

60 degree with low bounce.
As for the finish, I like the black on my Tmade wedges.
I hang my 60 and 56 SW in the same section of my bag.
They seem to get along fine. They are my scoring clubs!
Amazing how the finish makes them seem softer, with more touch.
My chrome 50 gap wedge I have to keep separate.
Looks like a plan old iron. Jealous I think!

speaking of the vokey wedges, does anyone know when the new models are going to be available? tgw and golfsmith were showing that they would be shipping this week, now the scheduled shipped date has been pushed back to december/january.
