Hi guys,

I played yesterday with the 09 burner. It's ok but a bit hard to control due to its length and lightness. I'm thinking of getting something a bit more controlable. What do you guys think about clubs like the 07 burner tp, Titlesist d2 or other older drivers. The prices have come down so much. I would prefer a tp version or something that isn't a hook monster.

Thanks for your thoughts

to be honest, the 07 burner was my favorite out of the latest burner series. the 09 burner is almost too light there is really no feel to the club, plus the whole head is just ugly. The 07 burner is pleasing to the eye and produces really good results, and at $150 for the draw and $200 for the regular, the tp between $250 and 300 you really can't go wrong.

well just like the new burner, the o7 burner was made to be really light as well. I would go with the ft-5 in this case

Hi guys,

Have you noticed a trend on the PGA TOUR. Driver sizes in bags are going down. One such pro doing this is briny baird. I have contemplated switching driver head size dramatically..Heres an interesting article for you guys to read...

http://www.golfdigest.com/golfworld/...081003johnson2

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

This is interesting.

To me , even if i'm losing 4-6 yards of distance (as the article claims), the monumental increase in forgiveness of the 460 cc drivers vs the 300 cc's is night and day. I can't give up that forgiveness for 4-6 yards. Also, ANYBODY can increase their swing speed by AT LEAST 5 mph in 1-2 months simply by picking up a Swing Speed Fan, put it in the room with their tv and swing it a few times a day (20-30) swings.

This is interesting.

I agree, very rarely, do I look at what the pros are doing as an indication of what I should do with my game.

As far as the Taylormade Drivers I haven't liked any of them in about 2 years, 46" and 55 gram shafts is their secret? It's just not a good mix for most players, and people wonder why they can't keep it in the fairway.

I agree, TM's new slogan for the burner: So long, you can finally get your misses in the other fairway!

Went to my locan RD golf shop and tested a few on the monitor. I hit a used tp 07 and it felt nice, but they not no new ones and this one was reshafted with a shaft not well suited for me, but did like it. The cobra lv5 was nice too but more then im looking to spend. I hit the FT5 with the nv green and it wasnt a match for my swing. I'm going to wait on the 09 burner TP, if it's not the one I'll go with the 07 tp i suppose.

thanks guys
