Today I hit the l5v, wow it's amazing, great sounding, great looking driver. i was hitting my d2 like 255 maxed out, with a 14 degree angle. When I got to hit the 9.5 stiff l5v, i was getting an 11.5 launch angle, about 275 total distance. It was very straight and it sounds amazing. It's very very workable, suited for the better player, and looks great!
anyone else hit it?

Heard they are impressive. Cobra continues to put out the best technology on the market. Credit to those guys.

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

I'm surprised you found it to be very workable. When I hit the 4v (which I've heard, but don't know as fact, is very comparable to the 5) I found it very forgiving, with an MOI of around 5700? And thus it wasn't workable at all.

you should try your driver in a stiff flex the flex of the shaft can make a difference in distance

See that's what I'm thinking. I'm trying to decide on a 9.5 stiff d2 or L4v/l5v.

As for the MOI, the one I hit was not very forgiving, it definitely lets you see what your shot shape is.

I agree with the earlier posts. If you are going 255 with a 14* launch, I'd be willing to bet your getting very little roll either. 14* would probably be best for guys hitting around 200-220ish and thus swing, I don't know, less than 85-90 mph?

But you actually went down 1* on the head and a flex stiffer when you tried the Cobra, and that brought down your launch 2.5*. I'm not sure that all of that is due to the head design itself. I'm not dissing Cobra by saying that. I just think you found more optimal launch conditions for you. I'd bet that a stiff or x-stiff shaft with a high kick point/low launch angle in your same driver head would yield similar results.

I tried the L5V with completely different results than the people on this thread. I hit it 20 194 yards carry with added roll that is 228 yards, I carry my burner about 220 and with roll it goes 245.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna buy all new woods, same as I have just stiff, and lower loft for the driver and hybrid. Also new grips too.
