I want to know how many of you use the Project X shaft compared to an S300 or X100 true temper in your irons. I cant make up my mind now on whether to go with the Project X 6.0's in my new clubs, or the X100's? Advantages & Disadvantages of both?

You should spend some time demoing the same head with the 2 shafts. The right choice should be obvious to you after spending some time with both. Project X (to me) is smoother with a slightly higher launch. The ball does not balloon on me much, and I get a slightly tighter dispersion. The S300 launches lower and doesn't have the same smoothness on the takeaway. I grew up playing S300s, but after discovering Rifles (and later Project X's), I will not go back.

Same as above basically. I use the 5.5's and they're the best investment I've made with my irons. Also use the spinners on my wedges.

My X-20 Tour's came with PX Flighted Rifle as the stock shaft, and I love them. :)

I have s300's in my set and my dad has projectx 5.5 in his ap2's I love both but I can honestly say the 5.5's were alot higher ball flight but they were alot heavier too and I cant complain about my s300's both are great

Hit many balls with all the shafts you are interested in. Project X and Dynamic Gold are completly different. I found the 6.0 incredibly hard to hit consistantly, and the X-100 was perfect for me. I had the same problem a few months ago. I hit both shafts side-by-side on three different occasions and found out the X-100 was better for me. Hit both of them...alot, and see what you think.

I will judge my rounds much more by the quality of my best shots than the acceptability of my worse ones.

Both shafts are definitely a little different in ball trajectory and feel. I prefer the S300, though. The main reason is I hate the graphics on the Project X shafts. Someone told me you can get the shafts without the big blue graphics, but I've not seen them out that way.

I have the Project X 6.0 in my Cobra Pro CB's and love them. I tested out all different clubs with different shafts and i definately preferred the rifles compared to the step shafts. but....like many have said before...YOU need to try them all out and see what you like the best, dont go on anyones opinion but your own!

I think it depends on the heads...i played the last two years with Mizuno heads and Project X shafts. I went from a 6.0 to 5.5 this spring, wantign to "feel" the load a little more. Didn't really help and then I was out with a buddy and he had steel shafts in his mizuno heads. I hit a few and really liked the feel. Had mine traded out a week later and I love them. I am swinging the X-100.

True Temper makes a shaft that is almost identical to the Project X: the Tour Concept. While almost as expensive, they come in various grades of stiffness and a frequency matched like the Project X.

Give them a look. FWIW, the Dynamic Gold series plays nothing like the PX. The Tour Concept, though, does.

I have 5.0 PX, R300 hard stepped x1 and Black Gold's regular flex soft stepped x1. Of the 3 I like the PX's the best and the BG's the least. For reference: driver ss 100-104 mph, 5i 84 mph and I'm a swinger. IMO the DG's are a good feel'n shaft if you dial them in correctly, I also spine all of my shafts.
