i have been told by some people that if you really like the shaft you have in your fwy woods, that you should get one cut down into your hybrid. I have also been told that if play a project x shaft in your irons, that you should stick with that. What do you all think i should do?

What about the hybrid version of your fairway shaft? For example, Aldila DVS makes a driver, fairway wood, and hybrid shaft. Some people use it for all of those clubs.

I have not seen many steel shafted hybrids. The ones that I have seen had DG's in them. I'm sure you could put a PX in it instead.

Ive seen a couple of hyrbids with steel shafts in them. A hit a clevland hybrid with a DG shaft on it and was nutting that thing, it felt great. But im not going to spare the time to get steels put into my hybrids. I use the proforce v2 hybrid shafts in my two hybrids and i dont have any complaints with them.

I always heard the decision was based on whether you wanted more distance or more accuracy. That line of reasoning was that a graphite shaft would provide more clubhead speed, a little higher launch and more carry distance (at least for moderate swing speeds). Then if you want more control and maybe a little lower launch, go with steel. The same weight head can be built to a shorter length in steel. I'd imagine it's a personal preference in both feel and ball flight, based on your swing dynamics. There are of course heavier graphite shafts, lighter steel shafts...the variations are endless.

yeah I have seen a number of places now offering hybrid shafts. That would be my suggestion.

My irons has the Project X shafts, my 3W has the UST V2 shaft and my hybrids has the DG S300 shafts. I really like how the hybrids feel with the DG S300. I think that the shaft that UST have for hybrids will feel good too but I haven't try it.

I don't think that I will change the DG shafts, cause those shafts feels pretty good and perfrom good as well.

Greetings! :)

Hybrids will naturally be pretty long, I would put steel in them, Since your using the 6.0 you might find steel is the right flex for your swing.

Definitely iron shafts.

Hybrids are more iron than wood IMHO.

Using the "thicker tipped" iron shafts you gain more control, the "Sorta wood" head gives you forgiveness.

You want your hybrids to "fit in" to the rest of your set as much as you can, including weight, length, and shaft material.

It works for me.
