I'm looking for a club that I can easily hit a low stinger with so I figured a 1 iron would be best.

I have a 1 iron in the For Sale section, if you're interested.

I already bought one on ebay. Thanks though.

I'll tell ya one thing, if you want to intimidate some random strangers who you are put in a group with, pull out a 1-iron and ask them if they want to bet.
Its like they say, "never trust a golfer with a deep tan, who carries a 1-iron and asks you if you want to bet on the first hole."

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

putter.

it's funny you mention that. I'm sure the distance isn't as long due to the difference in shaft length, but you can hit a pretty good stinger with your putter if you're really looking for that kind of trouble, plus, you could probably get some top spin on it getting it to keep rolling. that 1 iron is pretty much limited to a high cut, or if you're swinging uphill or off a tee, totally unnecessary.

I thought about this teeing off with a putter, but i would never do that with my regular putter since i´m to scared to damage him. Anybody done this - will it damage your putter?

Never tried it, but considering how weak the putter shaft is down by the head, it wouldnt surprise me if it did break.

Youd probably be smarter to replace the putter with a 1-iron if you are going to go that route. I think Id rathar try to putt with a 1-iron than to try to hit my tee shots with a putter.

There was a longballer guy on the Highway 18 show that hit a putter like 175 yds lol

I saw one guy smash it 250, then again, he was a distance driving champ, smacking over 350 was like any old drive to him, I was blown away. Absolutely incredible what these guys can squeeze out.

Speaking of putting with the 1 Iron. I have chipped before with a driver. It's nice for a long runner.

I got my 1 iron today.

It's absolutely awesome!

low, straight, penetrating ball flight 300+ yards every time. It's just ridiculous.

I got a new favorite club!

I don't know the fairways you are hitting 300 yard one irons upon, but firm is a term that comes to mind, like airport runways.

One of the most famous pictures in all of golf is of Hogan hitting a 1 iron just over 200 yards. It is the one from directly behind him, down the line. Hogan is in great balance with his classic finish at the 1950 US Open at Merion. The picture truly is worth more than a thousand words. Exquisite.

300 yards???

Well, I'm also a Remax long drive guy. I can krank my ss up to 140mph. I don't get why people say they are hard to hit. It's as easy to hit as a wedge.

Sorry man; I'm sure your good and I'm sure you swing fast, but 300+ with any consistency from the deck with a 1 iron? I honestly would really like to see that, not being sarcastic or anything; if you can do it I'd be impressed as hell to see it...

I have hit one , and it did not work for me -- however your impressive handicap indicates that you are a better ballstriker than myself . I would say that Ebay is full of 1-irons for sale at bargain prices , especially since even the PGA Tour players are no longer using them very much .

What clubs do you currently carry ? I was curious since a 1-iron is probably a bit of a specialty club in today's game , and you have to be able to find a spot for it that makes sense in your game . -- K.

    • Day 354: shitty, busy week so far. Only had time for a bit mirror work - working on the same things.
    • IDK, a full turn. That is what it's feeling like. When I shallow the club, it ends where It ends. Should I crank the torso more around?  I'll check a face-on to make sure, but it's not like I am trying to make partial backswings.  The day has finally come, when I am getting comments on not making a long enough backswing. 🤣 too much of what?  Here is my typically routine.... 1) I usually start out just doing position work. The backswing stuff we work on. Turn to A2.5-ish, shallow to A4, pause, arms down to A6. Then, slight pump drill and hit the ball.  2) I do some pause at A4 and arms down and try to hit ball from A4 instead of A6.  3) I do some full swing stuff, trying to blend it all together. Checking video to see if I am actually keeping the club shallow or not. If not, then I go back to trying to train the downswing with the stuff we worked on. I try to blend it all together again, and check video.  What am I missing here? I do the stuff we worked on. I'll keep it at, it's all I can do. Just hope it changes.  Sorry for trying to find a feel that keeps the club shallow..
    • Ha ha.... I'm not sure.  I've actually never watched a LIV event. ... but maybe? 👍👍
