I'm looking out my window at 5:30 and there is still enough light to practice putting. These are exciting days. Soon enough, golf until 8:15!

Yeah tell me about it. I'm jealous of all you southies! It's currently 23 degrees, windy, with flurries out. I hate Iowa. It's supposed to be 40 degrees on Sat. though, so maybe some melting. Still doesn't stop me from putting around my house. lol.

The days are getting longer up here in ND as well. The good thing about living up here is during the summer (May-Aug.) the days are extremely long. We are talking golfing by 5:45am at dawn and not finishing until almost 10pm (can barely see by this time).

On the downside, we have this stupid season known as winter from November til early April if we are lucky.

I think I would trade the long days for year round golf though. Yep, definitely would do that.

In Oregon we have the very long summer days. My favorite time to play is in those evening summers. It is terrific.

I'll take it, even if it is only a few minutes each day. Now, if we could only get rid of the cold and snow.

You need to talk to the course staff about pace of play. I thought 6 hour rounds were unacceptable, but 16?!?

Just kidding: I know you meant feasible start to feasible finish, not the time for a single round. I would love to be able to play three rounds in a day!

This is the best part of the year, as we move toward the equinox, and after that to the summer solstice (around June 20th--the longest day of the year). It helps me fight the "winter blahs" and "cabin fever" since our winter here in Central New York has been brutal. And another snow storm is supposed to hit us Monday.

One thing about golfers...they can tell what time it is based on how dark it is outside. Yesterday, my girlfriend asked me what time it was, and I looked outside and thought...hmm...could finish 1.5 holes maybe... 5:48pm? Looked at my cell phone -- 5:48.

You are right---that is the way real golfers tell time!

I had all but given up hope of ever playing again ... the snow banks here in NH are 8 feet high in places. But yesterday, I stepped outside to take the trash out and looked up at that bright sun and there was a slight, ever so slight, touch of WARMTH to it. That, combined with the fact that Pitchers and Catchers report to Srping Training in about two weeks, will keep me going for a few more weeks here anyway ...
