5 Wood Shaft Question.

I have a Taylor Made R7 5 Wood which I love and hit about as far as my 3iron.

Will chaning the stock shaft to one with a higher kick add some distance for me?

Obviously it will be a lower more pentrating flight - but will this add some yards?

If you hit the ball too high now it will. If you don't i can't really see you hitting it so much futher that it would be worth spending money on changing the shaft. Taylor made usually has pretty decent stock shafts

Hit a launch monitor. It will give you a better answer than we can.

If you use your 5w for going for the green, a high ball flight would be preferable. It will have a longer carry and be more likely to stick. Pros hit the ball higher to hit it farther when there's no wind, so a lower ball flight may cause you to lose distance.
