what is the difference??? TT dynamic gold's are stepped, are there any stepless shafts (aside from project x, which are a bit too expensive for me) that are comparable to the dynamic golds. more importantly is the first question, what are the advantages/disadvantages of each type of steel shaft?

I am not an expert, all I can give you is my experience.

Last week I got my custom fitted MX200s. The custom centre fitted me with Project x 6.0. I can tell you they are great. My spin rate was fat too high with my Ping i3 blades, they had regular flex shafts.

My ball still rises quickly but seems to penetrate far more.

I am afraid thats all I can give you.

Great question....perhaps some of the best info may be found on the manufacture's web pages.

I'm afraid that I can't give you the technical differences only the results for me. My last set of irons had DG shafts in them. They did well for me, however I tended to hit them a bit high. If I really jumped on a swing the results would be just a tad more yardage, but much higher trajectory.

It could be maddening playing in the wind. Knock down shots were harder to pull off with regularity.

Several years back I switched to my current irons with stepless Rifle shafts. My left-right shot dispersion tightened up nicely but the trajectory was a wonderful mid level. The ball wouldn't upshoot no matter how much I jumped on it. Increased swing speeds simply resulted in more carry.

Knock down shots, although less needed now, are a breeze to pull off...pun intended.

The overall results have been a ball flight that rises easily...holds a mid trajectory....and gently arcs down. Spin is great in that I still check long irons even though they are lower trajectory than with the DG.

Again, this was several years ago. I was amazed then that there had been a breakthrough with steel shaft technology. I assumed it'd gone about as far as it was going to go......WRONG. They've been hard at it ever since. I'm looking at the Rifle Project X Flighted for my next shaft on my 2009 irons (hoping things work out).
